Good Morning
Gobbles was snuggled next to me in bed when I woke up. As soon as I stirred, he got up and did his kissy & purry routine, then made a dash for the bathroom to get some TP off the roll for me  Then he decided to join the CPC and is now snuggled on my laptop case with his "good" mouse.
He had a blue number at PMBG last night (104); I didn't do the feed/3 hour test because I went to bed and didn't wake up. He's been on the Zymox (hydrocortisone-free formula) ear drops since 5/20. Since then, he has had 2 blue PMBG's (5/21 and 5/23). I thought the 5/21 raise in BG was due to me feeding him a 9% Friskies flavor, but now I'm uncertain becauseI took a look at the ingredients in the ear drops, and to my surprise, Dextrose and Glucose Oxidase are listed. Now I am wondering if those ingredients are indeed raising his BG? It seems like at least the dextrose would, would since I know that Dextrose is what they give hypo cats so surely it can raise Gobbles' BG? and Glucose Oxidase may also be a culprit...not sure exactly what that is....????
FYI, the way the ear drops are administered is to fill the ear canal with the (gooey) drops and not to clean it out at any time during the duration of administration (7-14 days). I give it to Gobbles in both ears since both ears have the yeast infection.
Full ingredient list on these ear drops: benzyl alcohol, dextrose, glucose oxidase, glycerin, hydroxypropyl cellulose, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, lysozyme, potassium iodide, propylene glycol, purified water.
