Happy Monday morning everyone! I didn't get a chance to get on all weekend but wanted to send our thoughts and prayers for MJ, Donovan, and especially Butthead.

We did a BGC yesterday and Tarragon threw me for a loop with the dreaded black number at +6. My husband started tearing out hallway carpeting yesterday at about +5 to put down hardwood and I wonder if that is what caused the sudden spike. Since Tarragon got sick, we have been systematically replacing all of the carpet since he was going outside of his box. He doesn't do well with change and I wonder if that is what caused the sudden spike. At any rate, we went with a dose increase last night and we will see if that helps. It seems like he does well on a dose for a couple of weeks and then can't seem to hold it. It feels like we will never really get regulated.

Thank you all for the well wishes on my first 5K. I am happy to say that I finished and that my time was not terrible. My sweet 20 year old son ran with me and was my cheerleader for the last 1K. I know he would have rather run faster and had a better time, but he stuck with me and got me through the end. Of course, my husband left us in the dust, but good for him.

Terrible about the tornadoes in Joplin and OK last night. It is about an hour away and our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

I'm sure Tarragon's black number was probably due to the tearing out of the carpeting. We did that at our house and my cats were terrified the whole time. Tarragon's AM number looks great compared to the black.

Congratulations on your run and finishing it. What an inspiration you are!

I didn't realize you are so close to all that happened yesterday with the tornadoes. Such a terrible, devasting event.

Yeah, that could have been the stress since he doesn't like change at all, or it could have also been a bad strip. I'm sure that did throw you for a big loop. Good luck with the increase.

Congrats on the 5K! You have a very sweet son!!

Congrats on your 5K. How nice of your son to stay with you - that is really great. I am glad you did well.

It could be the stress that elevated Tarragon's BG. We've been through that too. It is good to see that it didn't last long, and he is back to yellow today.

Have a great day guys!

Hi guys .. sorry to hear tarragon went so high last night but it was probably the stress of carpet coming out .. congrats on finishing your marathon yesterday, how nice that your son stayed and cheered you on, it's so nice to have a support system like that .. have a great day guys!

Good for you Melissa for doing the 5 k! I'm due to do a 10 k at work at the end of June, I'll probably end up in the fetal position by the end

Poor Tarragon, he had a black afternoon? Yikes! Feeling frustrated I think is normal, we all go thru it. I know I do, i just have to keep thinking I need to have patience. He does have a nice yellow number this morning!

You and Tarragon have a great day too!

Congratulations on the 5K run, and how sweet of your son to see you thru it until the end. I bet Tarragon comes down and it does sound like the stress that caused the spike. Good luck on the new dose, too.

Hi Melissa, you had asked me a question about the FF Flaked foods in my condo; just in case you didn't see it, here is the info. It looks like some of the flaked FF canned may be okay as far as carbs.

Hi Melissa, I just checked Janet & Binky's list under the "Old Canned Foods" list, and it looks like the Flaked Tuna Feast is 6 carbs and the Flaked Tuna & Mackerel Feast is 7 carbs, so not too bad. For some reason Maggie won't even touch the FF chicken and beef! Her teeth must be bothering as she is mostly sucking the juice.
