Yesterday.

Yesterday recap:
AMPS: 113
+9.5: 107
+11: 83 (bad test?) / vomited grass
PMPS: 118
+2.5: 100 (fluids at +2.5, ate rest of dinner)
+6: 66

Good morning, LL!
Ripley is doing really well today. Her numbers appear to be back on track (she was experiencing some sort of pain/discomfort 2 nights ago, and her numbers raised slightly). Good appy. No poo yesterday nor today (yet), hopefully soon. **ETA: We have prezzies!!

She has a vetty visit this afternoon to check for arthritis. Even though she is moving around fine now, the limited mobility and pain she exhibited the other night was scary ~ so I'm keeping the appt., just to see what's going on. Hopefully we'll know what it is/was...

Last night she jumped up onto the bed with some difficulty; jumping/balance has never been her strong point, but there was some struggle getting up onto the bed, with success after a couple of attempts. (Of course it didn't help when our civvie Smokey hissed at Ripley when she finally came up onto the bed. grrrr). Ripley slept the whole night next to my belly. ** happy sigh**

Sending many many vines to Georgia's Simon today.

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Morning Josie ~O) ~O) ~O)

Another beautiful green start for Ripley. I love those green amps! well done little one. Now you surf well for your bean, 'K?

Good vetty vines for Ripley. It's good to read she is moving around better, but good too I think to keep the appt. I hope all will be well, and that the other night was nothing serious. Maybe she just overdid it? You have a good vetty visit Ripley.

Enjoy your day Josie.

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Hi Josie! Great numbers, Miss Ripley!

Good luck at the vet~good momma for taking her :-D

We have the grass vomit now and then plus a grass turd occasionally; there's only one person (gray fuzzy) who eats grass, so I know where that comes from

Glad to read that The Poo Fairy has been doing her job~she's been real busy in LL lately!!!

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Morning Josie, sending good Vetty vines for Ripley this afternoon. I'm glad she seems to be better today and good ide ato get her checked out with what happened the other day . I hope all goes well and will check back later on Vetty report.

Ripley, thanks for waiting for me at the Green Lagoon. I can't wait for the umbrella drink! Mags

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Shadow has arthritis and I think it toys with her numbers some days. I'll be watching to see if you and Ripley go thru the same thing.
The adequan shots make a difference but I kinda gave up on the dasuquin since she doesn't like the taste.
I just bought her this too http://www.amazon.com/Loft-Pet-Steps-Non-Slip-Modern/dp/B003OES1GY/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20
I got it for $150 at my local store... so it's not quite as expensive as amazon.
The reason I chose it over all the others is they are all so cumbersome and we made the wooden steps narrower so they wouldn't stick out as much.
I could do that since they were real wood. I don't need to run into it in the middle of the night and break my toes.

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Hi guys .. this is a much better report for ripley .. I hope the vetty visit goes well and it's just a bit of arthritis that is bugging her .. have a great day guys!

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Beautiful AMPS for Miss Ripley today. And yay for Prezzies!!! Sending vetty vines along to you! If she does have arthritis, our Mario (GA) was on adequan for 2 years, and it made a huge difference for him. I never saw any results with the cosequin, thoug. But, hopefully Ripley just twinged a muscle or something the other day, and is on the road to healing up, rather than having anything else going on.

Have a great day!

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95

Hi Josie. Nice to see Ripley begin her day at the Lagoon. I hope she surfs here for you today. Wish her the best with the vet visit this afternoon.

No poo yesterday nor today (yet), hopefully soon. **ETA: We have prezzies!!
"Post it and they will come!"

Have a great day Josie.

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95, +5.5 84, +8.75 99, vet visit

Thanks so much for the visits and good vetty vines, Michelle, Kat, Ann, Rhiannon, Devon, Amy, John, and Carla! :-D

We just got back from a very good vet visit:
No x-rays were necessary.
Dr. K did a thorough exam of spine and legs, and found mild arthritis in her back legs and one place in the back half of her spine.
He said to hold off on giving her any Cosequin (until she's done with her AB treatment) unless I see another 'flare' like the other night. That discomfort could've been either from arthritis or a pulled muscle, but he's leaning toward arthritis due to the quick recovery time. But once her ABs are finished, I can start her on Cosequin.

He said she looks really good. She has gained almost a pound since her last appt., about 3 weeks ago.
She's like a little kitty celeb at the vet's office!
There's a bulletin board in the waiting area with lots of photos of kitties, including a pic of Ripley on her 15th bday, along with a thank you card I gave to them for taking such good care of her:
IMG_4025.JPG

When I was paying, the techs were talking about how much they adore Ripley, she's such a sweet girl, etc., and one of the clients waiting asked if that's the same Ripley as the kitty in the photo. I proudly said, Yes, that's my girl. There were several audible "Awwws."

I wonder if this is how parents feel when their children make the honor roll. :-D

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95, +5.5 84, +8.75 99, vet visit

I'm sorry to hear Ripley has arthritis, but I'm glad it's something treatable. At least now you know. That's neat your vet has photos of kitties on their bulletin board. Of course Ripley would get lots of attention. She's such a cutie.

Re: 5/23 Ripley AMPS 95, +5.5 84, +8.75 99, vet visit

Hi guys,

We're so glad that you had a good vetty visit and that you have a plan. :-D
Beautiful cycle today, Ripley. The LagoonMeister approves!

Have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Yes.
any time someone brags on your kids... bean or fur... it's all GOOD!

Glad you have a plan now.

Re: 5/23 Ripley PMPS 141, vet visit

I'm not surprised by this amps, with the car ride & vet visit & thermometer up her you-know-what (her least favorite part of any vet visit). Poor girl probably still smells like that horrible place; there's lots of bathing going on.

Thanks for visiting, Carla, Ella, and Rhiannon! :-D :-D :-D

Also, thanks Rhiannon for the steps link from this morning ~ those are some nice-looking steps. I wonder if I could make my own...

Re: 5/23 Ripley PMPS 141, vet visit

Such Happy news that Ripley is OK & doing well!! Moonie was on cosequin and dasuquin(the next step up from cosequin) then was on adequan--I think the cosequin helped her the most, but it does take a few weeks to work...Thanks for keeping in touch with me, I appreciate it..Love to come visit here too-
Glad you are still the loving caring best bean & Ripley knows it!!
Sending healing vines to Rips & hope she will feel great soon! Hugs & love from us!

Re: 5/23 Ripley PMPS 141, vet visit

KTSS is on their way to Ripley's place. We have fresh rosemary on the deck and Neko just went charging off with some in her backpack.

I'm glad that no X-rays were required - just a bit easier on Ripley. I can sympathize with the temperature sensor, that is totally Neko's worst part of vetty visit. Good that arthritis is just mild and you have a plan moving forward.

So cute that you got to play the proud parent. :-D

Re: 5/23 Ripley PMPS 141, vet visit

Ripley is a star! :-D We give cosequin to our civie and it helps her a lot. We gave 1 capsule BID for a month and now it's 1 capsule per day. It did take a couple of weeks to see the benefit. We mix it with yogurt, which she likes. I hope it works for Ripley! And Detective Poo is very pleased to see your report. :-D

Hi, Roni, Wendy, and Liz :-D :-D :-D Thanks for the info and KTSS!

Back in the lagoon

We just felt a little earthquake (unusual for our area of Calif.).
I thought cats are supposed to 'predict' these things.
They slept right through it.
