well i've never wished anyone Happy Victoria Day before and i am excited to have the words leave my mouth, er, the taps leave my fingers. so to all you canadians, enjoy your day off!!!

and have a super monday.

Hi guys .. Happy Victoria Day Canadians!

Don't have much planned here today either, lots of housework from the weekend but that's about it

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!

I was on a conference call with Americans and Canadians last week. We explained our holiday was a week before theirs. They asked what our holiday was. The other Candian on the call explained that it was the Queen's birthday - but not the current queen LOL. Then the American asked about our "Boxer Day".

I'm totally slacking off today work wise. Went to the gym. Also got all my planting finished. Some images (not mine) of some things I planted:

Orange Azalea (hardy to zone 4). I got a tiny baby one about 10" high and no blooms yet. Its supposed to be a May bloomer so who knows what this year will bring. BH Azalea:

5 Himalayan blue poppies. They are supposed to be touch and go. Not a beginner flower. Ah well.

My perennial garden should be complete if everything comes back next year.

Happy May Two Four weekend! I did pretty much nothing. I took a few walks, did a bit of gardening, flagged down the ice cream truck on my street today :o , and I'm going to a movie tonight. Is it wrong to have a Frappucino, a chcolate dipped ice cream cone and a tub of popcorn all in one day? nailbite_smile

What is wrong with a frappacino, ice cream cone and popcorn? Sounds very well-balanced in my opinion! Yum!

Happy Queen Victoria Day! I said that to my co-worker who is Canadian and she was very impressed that I knew what day it was. She did say that where she is from (Montreal) that the French-Canadians take the day off but they don't really like to recognize the day due to Victoria being British. Very interesting!

If you really want to impress her, wait until June 24, and wish her a happy St. Jean Baptiste Day.

i hope there's nothing wrong with that menu, because i've had a scone and about 8 rice krispy treats today! and of course the daily dose of diet dr pepper to counteract the calories in the scones and rice krispies! we have all these treats left over from the grad party last saturday and i'm doing my best to scarf them all down.

those blue poppies are so gorgeous! i'd love to have those! wonder if the deer eat them?

Absolutely not!! Enjoy your day Linda.

Happy Victoria Day to all you guys....or in Texas we say, Y'all.

Yay for Victoria Day!

Always reminds me of my high school days camping on may long weekend, having some beverages (of course I was underage) and running away from the fish-cops......ahhhhhhh memories!

Happy Victoria Day (Fête de Dollard ou Journée nationale des Patriotes for us French Canadians!!!)

Well as long as I have a day off … I don’t care whose day it is…

I spent the whole day planting trees and flowers… :-D

I'm Canadian but being this far away from Quebec...no idea what that date of June 24 meant til today...out West we really don't know the Quebec holidays

Is it too late to wish you all a Happy Victoria Day? Lots of Canadian tourists here this past weekend, celebrating Victoria Day in the Adirondacks.
Anyway, Happy Victoria Day, to all you Quebec people, too!

Ella

p.s. to Linda: I like your holiday menu!
