Morning All, (yawnnnnn)

Well not much to report from Leo-Land. He was up waiting by his dish, such a sweetie for not waking me up an hour before shot time ( like he used to). I got spoiled last night with lots of cuddling, purrs and head butts. I tested him and decided to shoot while he was preoccupied with purring and acting silly after his testing, since I have a hard time with shooting during eating and usually get lotsa growls and dirty looks. Sooooo much attitude from such a little animal.

Looks like he's cut the bouncing down to in between his shots instead of 3 days! Maybe no bouncing at all anymore? Fingers, toes and paws crossed that happens. Liver training school is well in session.

Anyway I'm going btb, will get up and have coffee later on this dreary rainy day.

Well the bouncing is clearing every cycle.....but i just gave a damn partial fur shot..... :evil: I tested, gave him treats which seemed to preoccupy him then injected the syringe and just when i was almost done, he pulled away and his fur smelled like insulin and there was still one big drop left in the syringe.

SIGH.....why do i have so much trouble giving him his shots? My dad makes it look so easy compared to me, i think...no scratch that, i know i'm still nervous when i give him his needle and that Leo obviously picks up on that nervousness.

Tomorrow is a new day....right?

Right! A new day. I'm an expert at fur shots and I can tell you that the new day does come, sometimes a bit delayed, but it arrives. I left a couple of miniscule drops on Rusty's skin when I pulled the needle out tonight. I think it happens more than most of us realize, and if I hadn't had my eyes about an inch from Rusty's shoulder, I would never have noticed, because there was no insulin smell.

awww, it happens.

my vet made us practice on a stuffed cat before we got to practice with saline on frenchie. there are days he would start walking away mid injection, like he didn't notice a syringe was half was in him, all i could do was sit there and hope that i could get it most of the way injected. i seriously preferred the stuffed cat on those days.

i figured there is always tomorrow!

yup, you get another chance tomorrow!

i box punkin in so even though he wants to move, he can't go very far. his face is in his bowl, tail against the hutch, a wall on one side and me, armed with a needle, on the outside. mwahahahahaha.

keep at it, you'll figure out some trick that will help make it easier.

As long as Champ has food in front of him, he doesn't care if the house is falling down around him. Once I gave him an ouchy shot...I actually saw all the skin on his back twitch...and all he did was lift his head up, look to the side for a second, and then head back down and nom nom nom. :lol:
