Yesterday's Condo

A lovely overnight surf for Ms. Gabby! I'm glad since there was chaos most of yesterday afternoon and into the evening. I bought new bedroom furniture in January. Ok. I admit -- I'm fussy. The bed and nightstands were being imported from Italy. Unfortunately, the owner of the store where I bought the furniture is crazy. In fact, she's sufficiently crazy that I called her corporate office to complain that when she let me know the furniture was in, she expected me to come pick it up and set-up/install the bed. Silly me. I figured that if Crate & Barrel can provide white glove delivery and set up, so can a high-end furniture store (especially since I've bought at their stores in other cities and that was the typical customer service). It took about 7 hours for them to get the bed installed. Gabby supervised and Gizmo spent a good amount of time under the living room sofa! I sat and began composing my review of the crazy woman for Yelp.

Gabby approves of the new bed. (That's what's important, isn't it?)

Am glad Gabby approves of the bed after 7 hours to install it. That is a long time! Are you sure they didn't have a nap on the job?
Many years ago we went to Melbourne for a holiday and we rented an apartment in a lovely big old building.
We got the key from the proprietor who lived on the premises and went into the apartment. The kids ran ahead and quickly came back to tell us there was someone asleep in one of the beds. I went into the room and here was a girl who should have been making the beds and getting the apartment ready, sound asleep on the half made bed.
She begged me not the tell her boss as she would be sacked. She said she had been out the night before and was very tired and had only meant to lie down for a minute!
I thought it was very funny, but didn't let her see, and we didn't tell her boss.

There was no snoozing on the job! It only took 3 guys from the delivery company and then they had to call their supervisor and the "assistant" from the furniture store to get this installed. I could watch what they were doing. It didn't help that the instructions were in Italian which is why the assistant from the store was here. He speaks Italian.

It depends on what you consider "regular." It's a platform. The mattress is on a hydraulic so you don't kill yourself lifting it because there's storage underneath the mattress. The headboard needs to be attached to the wall and each of the headboard panels attaches to other pieces -- everything has to be properly aligned. And, the top panel has LED lighting which washes up the wall. There are 2 nightstands which pretty much had to be taken out of their boxes.

Wow, no wonder Gabby approves of the bed - I would, too! Nice numbers today. I hope Gizmo is back out and being his usual pesky self now that there are no strangers around.

As for Gizmo being back out exploring, he's in fine form. The sofa for the den was delivered today and since I'm "breaking in" the new furniture, both Gabby and Gizmo had to check out the sofa, as well. And, Gizmo had courtyard time. He's been a happy boy

Yikes! 7 hours..even for a fairly complicated install, thats wayyyy too long. Good thing Gabby approves..wouldnt wanna have em come take it back:joyful:. So now you know we expect to see a pic of Gabby on the fancy bed:)

I hope you're not planning on moving again soon! :banghead:

It's great that Gabby and Gizmo approve of the new furniture. I hope that they (and you) enjoy sleeping in the new bed.

Gosh, if it took a team of experts 7 hours to do it I hate to think how long it would have taken you on your own! I'm so glad that you managed to get them in.

Nice cycling from Gabby :D
