Happy Fursday evening. Sorry to be so late.....busy day today and it just got away from us. With Mike gone four days last weekend, we just had a bunch of stuff to do.

The saga continues of Gracie being on one side of the catio door and Tobey on the other. This morning after T/F/S, I opened the door and she went out on the catio but I hadn't gotten back to the guest bathroom to open the window. I followed her out on the catio and through the window, I could see Tobey's big eyes and little sad face that he was not on the catio with us. Instead of just coming around into the library and going out, he sat there looking very sad until I opened the window and out he went to be reunited with his favorite Gracie girl.

Despite Mike's good monitoring yesterday, Missy G snuck in a 33 so she got a dose reduction last night. We were, again, expecting a big yellow bounce but she was pretty flat last night and today ending up with some lovely green at PMPS. Good girl!

Hope you've all had a super day. Work has, yet again, started taking some extra time because we've had endangered jaguars and ocelots now spotted on the proposed mine site and we are having to do some additional consultations with the Fish and Wildlife Service. It's looking now like this won't all be over by the end of June. :evil: :evil:

boo-hiss on work! :lol: i'm done for the summer as of june 13th and can't wait! woot. i'm glad you're there to protect the ocelots and jaguars. i didn't even know those lived in Arizona. very cool.

I like Gracie's numbers, well, maybe not the 33! :shock: Good catch! That is way cool that you work to protect the big cats, like Julie said, I had no idea ocelots lived in AZ either.

I'm glad Gracie decided to avoid yellows today. That color should be on the sun - not on the SS!

Okay, completely stupid question now after all this time.....What's your job title? You mentioned being nominated for an award for the copper project a couple of weeks ago and now you mentioned species at the mine site. I have no idea what your job actually is, though! ohmygod_smile

We certainly hope LBG holds the reduction.

Shelly...by training/education, I'm a wildlife biologist. I work as a Senior Project Manager for the federal govt regulating projects under the Clean Water Act (wetlands and watercourse protection). Yes....these two cats were historically here and they are endangered. Their main populations are in Mexico just south of the border. It's very exciting they are here!

Thanks, Marje. Do you get to spend much time in the field? I would imagine that's the most exciting part of the work. Of course, most "critters" freak me out, so I would probably have to pass on any trips! :lol:

Wow Marje! Bobcats, jags and ocelots... Cat Whisperer Extreme :razz: It must make things quite complicated for the project (big sigh for the end of June), but so great that the kitties are in your area.
Too cute about Tobey and the big sad face. So endearing and impossible to ignore! The only remaining stray kitty (Weasel, the big brother) has been working his sad face magic on us here. He has won...and now lives with his uncle Rubber and little Spider Monkey. We still let him outside everyday hoping he finds his family, but the face is back every evening :lol:

As always, I love the Tobey/Gracie story. I can just picture his sweet little face, looking so sad and alone. Who wouldn't go running to open the window for him?!

I lived in Tucson for 16 years and I never knew there were ocelots and jaguars. Bobcats and Mountain Lions, yes, but that was all I remember. Just goes to show you we can always learn something new, the more people we talk to!

I wondered about your job title, too. Your work sounds fascinating and it doesn't surprise me that your profession involves the welfare of animals. You are so good at caring for kitties, it all makes sense.

Congratulations on the reducie. Gracie, you are a very good girl to do your deep lagoon diving during the day when daddy bean is there to watch you. Surf safely tonight, LBG!
