And he is an old timer. 17 YO; soon to be 4 years on insulin, most of that on Levemir.
Last post, I think.
Our introductory post, for those who might not have read the tome.
I finally understood the rule of the Lantus ISG that old timers only post of Saturdays. It's late (because I've been transporting Bean today), but it's still Saturday. And last Saturday I was tied up trying to transport Brady out of Louisiana, and failed to post.
Ennis keep chugging along. Still has a great appetite, which I don't really appreciate in the middle of the night. I usually do not do midcycle tests. The tests that I do take when I realize it's time to shoot are usually in the greens and blues
I don't like to shoot under 100, although I do at times. There was a post by Steve, maybe a year+ ago on the old Board, where he said he thought he had been consistently overdosing Jock by shooting him with Levemir at very low numbers. I took that to heart, and I now prefer to shoot Ennis in the low 100s. Sometimes, that means waiting, as I did on 5/20/10, although I could have shot him sooner than I eventually did. Got distracted having to make dinner.
I got a couple PSs in the 200s since I last reported. Tail end of the Lev cartridge, and losing it's punch. When I opened a new pen and shot a slightly reduced dose the evening of 5/19, that was followed by extended duration.
I'm leaving the US next week, and won't return until after I've had nine glorious days on and in the water, walking pristine beaches, snorkeling barrier reefs, and staying completely away from the Internet. Ennis will be staying with Stefani (and Toonces), my diabetic catsitter extraordinaire. So no old timer report for Ennis the next two weeks.
May you and your cats stay safe and happy. Adios!!
