Zener is doing ok this morning. Appy isn't great but he has eaten some. He is sleeping on the filing cabinet helping with his condo. He insisted on a picnic then immediately headed out to the woodpile to check on the baby chipmunk. I ran and brought him back inside but he wouldn't eat. So we made a deal that he could have a picnic and do yard patrol but no chipmunk hunting. :lol: :lol: Tillie would not agree so she didn't get to go outside. The chipmunk is safe for now. I gotta watch out for the neighbor's cat though.

OT: It is now definitely smoky and I've seen a few pieces of ash, this is from the Slide Fire in Oak Creek Canyon, directly downwind from us. Ugh! Wildland fires have the most awful smoke, even 20 miles away. Sending many vines for the firefighters and everyone impacted.

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans, Tricia's Cinco and civie Sasha (visits to the oncologist for both kitties), Lucy, Trixie. Happy Wednesday, LL!

Good Morning, Liz.

Wildfire smoke is awful. Unfortunately, I'm afraid this is just the beginning. Everything is so dry in the west that it's all just a fire waiting to happen. :sad:

I'm glad Zener is doing okay. If he's up yard patrol, he can't be feeling too bad, right?

Thanks for the kind thoughts about my babies. Thankfully, Cinco is doing so well, I can concentrate my worry more on my little Sasha. She's really tearing at my heart right now. All vines, prayers and thoughts help, though! :smile:

Poor chipmunk and poor Zener. He's a cat. It's what they do. :roll: Many thoughts coming for the firefighters and everyone in the path of the fire. Have a great day!

Poor chipmunk, but Zener was just being a cat. I hope Zener slides down soon. Sending prayers for the firefighters and those affected by the fire. I hope they get it under control soon.

Hi guys,
It is tough to watch those hunts. But our kitties are predators. It looks like he got so excited that his bgs went up! Time to come back down, mighty hunter. You need to cool off in the lagoon.

Sorry about the wildfire near you and hope that it can be brought under control very soon. A number of years ago there were large wildfires in Northern Quebec and the smoke came all the way down to NY City and lingered all summer. Hang in there!

It's supposed to be a very rough fire season...
always prayers for those dealing with it.
falling ash is always disturbing,... especially if it's still burning..... :shock:

ahhhh, RIP chipmunk...

Bummer on those BG's. A little wildfire stress for Z-Man? Kitties always know when things are askew. Well I hope he comes down soon.

For those of you who are on FB, Liz and Anne will be updating there. From what Anne's post looks like, the fire changed course and is heading toward Flagstaff. Smart women that they are, they are packing up and getting to safer ground.

Happy to hear you guys are moving to safer ground in the meantime, but hoping the good firefighters can snuff it out before it impacts your home. Sending many safety vines for all of you. Also, RIP little chipmunk.

Well, we haven't left yet but do have most things packed. The smoke plume from the Slide Fire is coming right over us. Ugh! It's disgusting. The kitties think it's fine and insist on going outside. :roll: :lol: :lol: Tillie was sneezing a bit this evening so her outside time will be even more limited. Zener, on the other hand, won't eat unless he has a picnic. So we relent and let him out for a bit. Some neighborhoods to the south of us are on "pre-evacuation" which means they would get an hour or two notice to leave. We are not at that stage yet. Paws crossed for calm winds so that air tankers can fly and fire lines will hold.

Sorry to bump yesterdays post but I can't get on FB at work and I don't see a post for today yet...and I'm not sure how long work will be slow for me to be on here. That is scary. I hope the winds change or the firefighters keep the from going your direction, and your house stays safe. Hugs.

Been thinking of you guys up there. I hope you don't have to evacuate. I'm so sad to see the pics of the canyon all up in smoke.

Z-man! *high five!* Although I am sorry the lil chipmunk is no longer with us, I also like to see that our kitties have "still got it." Poor Buster hasn't caught a lizard in a long time. I don't like to think of him as old so I'm still hoping he'll catch one off guard.

Please be safe up there!!
