Yesterday, a new cartridge and a dosecrease, so today it's NDW. :roll:

Neko's in fine form with her 5 P's today. She knows the routine for the +9 middle of the night test and comes in from the solarium where's she's been sleeping. She was a little discombobulated this morning because I didn't go rowing (pulled something on my thorax a couple days ago), which meant no out-the-door treats. After a little wait she heading back out to her solarium bed. I'm pretty sure she was grumbling. :lol:

It's another great weather day for cats. Sun to warm things up but there's a good breeze so it's not too hot. But those darn crows are getting cocky and it's baby crow month. Both cats just hate crows - they react differently to them from other smaller birds they see. The crows like to hang and taunt from either the neighbours roof or the fir tree, both about 10-15 feet from where the cats are, but through the solarium glass.

Healing vines to those in need today. Lucy and Zener can always use some extra appy vines. Thinking of Tricia's civie Sasha. And sending lots of stopping fire vines to the firefighters near Anne/Liz/Zener/Tille.

I love watching the crows around here.... they are pretty darn smart.
They are supposedly the descendants of the Velociraptors and those really are scary.

Crows don't get frightened by pretty kitties....

I hope Neko gets over the NDW soon. I hope the crows don't drive the kitties crazy.

Hi Wendy,
It looks like Neko is coming down from NDW. I'm about to start a new cartridge, too, in a few days. Crows are amazing. I've seen a group of them mobbing a bald eagle! Watertown NY gets so many crows at this time of year that they set off canons to try to move them out. But these are social birds and they like to gather.

Sending some vines for your thorax. I hope you're back on the water soon. My knee was really good on the bike ride today.

I hope you are feeling better soon and can go rowing again soon. The cats must love the solarium. Ah, those crows are ruining it for the kitties. We had a screened in porch, but we took it down a few years ago to do an extension on the house. Lovey used to enjoy the breeze and sun.

So we seemed to have broken through that NDW. :mrgreen: Neko was out "helping" me put in the tomatoes this afternoon. She'd even prepped one part of the nicely prepared beds with some extra fertilizer. :roll: I wasn't sure it was hers but it did look like raw poo. And later when I went looking for her I found her lying in the tomato bed section again. I guess she can get up there after all. It's a raised bed, so I always wonder about her mobility, she isn't jumping as much as last year.

@Rhiannon - Descendents of velociraptors? :shock: That explains a few things. There is a crow rookery about 10 miles away, as the crow flies, that has several thousand crows at night. I used to work near there - spooky to have that many crows nearby.

@Carla - NDW is gone. :-D I find it amusing to watch the kitties watching the crows.

@Ella - Yup, NDW gone. Crows are smart - I've seen them mobbing larger birds too, including an eagle. I pulled something in front reaching over the balcony. I don't think rowing would hurt it, but I'm going to give it a few more days. Great news on the knee!

@Catherine - Just taking it careful on the rowing. It's a sport that's hard on the body. The cats do LOVE the solarium, especially if it's nice weather out and the windows are open.

I have a stupid question, I had to look up what NWD meant :? So Neko went higher 3 hours from her shot time and that is NWD! But then she goes down to 93 at PMPS time, is that a bounce or still NWD? Whatever the case, 93 is a good pre shot number and I hope that trend continues. I bet your kitties are enjoying this nice weather! Crows and Jays give me a headache this time of year!

Thank you for your reply re:syringes with 1/2 unit marks. I will look into getting some online, but I had to go to Bartell's drug and get another pack as I was running low. The brand I bought is BD and Bartell's is the equivalent to Shopper's Drug Mart in BC. Are you using 28 gauge lancets? I am having a heck of a time finding them except for the kind you use with a pen. I bought all this stuff when I didn't know what I was doing...

Hoping that Anne/Liz/Zener/Tillie are safe from the nearby fires. Tons of comfort going out to Tricia on Sasha's biopsy results.

@Ruth - NDW or New Dose Wonkiness is higher numbers the first couple of cycles after an increase. Neko is on Levemir, so her onset and nadir (typically +9 to +12) are later. This morning's 194 was her nadir from the previous cycle. Tonight she didn't nadir until after PS. When I take a +3 test she is often rising because she hasn't onset yet. Levemir can be confusing when you are used to Lantus. :lol: I too use BD syringes, as that's all that is available in Canada. I used to use 28 gauge lancets (Freestyle) but now that Neko's ears bleed better I use a smaller gauge.
