Morning ~O) a good start for the day with some very nice prezzies overnight from Maggie and no messy butt either. Sorry to start off a condo this way, but it's such a big, happy deal for Mags to be so semi regular with the Megacolon issue. She was very vocal about it, too. :lol: I thought she wanted me to do a +1 which I did, and it was 263. Then I checked the LB and saw the prize.

Not so good of a start is her AMPS. I may have done a fur shot. It happens when I shoot thru the scruff after earlier giving fluids. I guess I just didn't go deep enough. It hurts her if I do it to the side, and she jerks. I'll have to be more careful and focused. :?

I'm off shortly to move my car onto the street, as we all need to move them before 7 am! it was canceled last due to rainy weather. This will be fun with 120 apartments moving cars onto the street. Not all have cars though. I know of a few. BBS to visit condos.

Prayers and vines for all affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma.

Wooohooooo for "the prize!!!!!!" LOL. I'm sure she was singing extra joyfully today, since there was no need for a butt wash, either! Maybe a little juice went in...it's still early. Trix is the same way...when I hit certain spots, she jerks, but I can move just a fraction of an inch and she doesn't even flinch. I always feel bad when she's jumpy at shot time.

Good luck with finding parking....yikes, that's a lot of cars! I hope the repairs are speedy.

Well, most important stuff first ... no butt scrubbing! I'm sure Miss Mags was singing in joy for that too :-D

Do you have to give fluids at the same time as the shot? Does the insulin leak out or something? Just curious. Molly is 14 had her skin is hard enough in the scruff now that she leaks B-12 sometimes after i shoot her. I'm going to try off to the side or further down to see if she tolerates it.

Thanks for all the visits and cheers for Mags. I found a parking spot at the end of a side street not directly in front of a home and not too bad of a walk. I'm sure the homeowners are wondering what's going on with bumper to bumper car in front of their homes.

Thanks Melissa for the Happy Poo Dance for Mags. :-D I so wish they would get on with it, too.

Hi Amy, I didn't word that right above. The furbie shot was last night. I had a feeling, so Mags got away with no pokes all night. I usually just do a +3 unless she's really low.

Hi Lisa, normally Mags gets her fluids around 12 Noon, and then her shot is at 3 pm. I don't know if the liquid leaks out, but that's interesting to note. I think they can develop scar tissue.

:? This is strange for Mags to go up so soon, as she had no food and has been sleeping the whole time. I guess the food caught up. I may need a new vial. I've also been using the calipers but with the MJ's. I know I need the Tuermos. It also could be Mags being a cat! :lol: I think I've used up all my excuses.

Amy, thanks on the +4, but I dunno what happened. I guess I have permission to get some exercise and out and about.

Good luck with the car thing Ann, what a nightmare for so many. Aiyee! I can so imagine on the neighbors too... Well I hope the parking lot at your place is repaired quickly, and that there are no delays while the work is in progress. Paws crossed!

Hi Ann & Mags,

It could be the cone in the MJs that is messing with the calipers. It is impossible to figure out how much insulin may be hiding in the cone on those MJs that are poorly manufactured--the ones where the needle does not come all the way down to the base of the cone.

If you decide to switch to Terumos, you will find it easier to measure precisely (but Terumos take some getting used to).

Anyway, glad you found a good spot for your car. When I read about your parking, I have "fond" ohmygod_smile memories of moving my car every day in Brooklyn so as to avoid getting a ticket in those hours when you can't park because of street cleaning (alternate- side- of- the- street regulations). Usually it involved double parking until the exact hour was reached when you could move back. If you didn't move back on time, you got a ticket. If you stayed in your spot and didn't move, you got a ticket. It was known as the "alternate side dance". Sometimes you got a ticket for double parking (which, technically, was illegal, but which was usually tolerated during "alternate side").

I agree 100% with Ella on the MJs and Terumos. Once you get used to the Terumos, you'll like them.

Glad Mags had a good prezzie. Hope she comes back down and hope you feel better, Ann.

Hi Michelle, yes, starting to use the calipers you and Mannie donated to Mags, very special. I don't know why she's so high today, just an off day. I do need a new vial though. Aiyee on the parking is right! I parked at the end of a side street and not directly in front of a home. It seems a little safer in that area, too. We've had some vandalism with cars on the street and also in our lot, believe or not.

Hi Ella, yes, it is the cone that is messing up things. I can see it in the cone at times. I have a box of Terumos on order. Oh my on your fond memories of Brooklyn parking! :-D Guess we have to watch for that, too. I forgot all about it. They should be finished by end of day Thursday.

Hi Marje, yes on the syringes. I can see now the problem with the MJ's. Yay on her prezzies; she seems proud with the vocal. Thanks, I'm feeling better. It's the darn stomach virus making a return trip when I thought I was all over it.

Hi Detective Poo, just saw you up there! Yes, I do think the Miralax works better than the Lactulose for Maggie's case with the Megacolon. It's easier to disguise the Miralax in a little bf plus a few drops of water and make a paste. The Lactulose is sticky, and kitties seem to hate it. If it gets on their fur, it literally takes out the fur when trying to clean it off. If it's just a once in a while thing, the Lactulose does really work though for a kitty. Are you guys using the MJ's with the calipers?

I have no caliper experience/advice but am stopping in to tell Mags to turn her fuzzy little tushy around!

Yay on the prezzies and not needing to give Maggie a bath. I hope she gets back to the lagoon soon. Good luck using the calipers. I think they are great.

So Maggie is still singing in the LB.... :-D ... that's so funny.
I thought it would just be a one time thing.
Sounds like even she knows that her going is something to sing about ....
 
Hi Ann. Hope Maggie comes down from the yellow rung tonight. She looks better in green.

Glad you were able to find a parking spot not too far away. I'm going to switch to the Terumos syringes also when I used all of the MJ's I have.
