all is well in the Land of the Sugar Meezers!
Lucy is cracking me up daily, as always. Everyone should have such a happy kitty! Her latest thing is to stand on the half wall that goes around the kitchen and stand on her head to be petted. Usually she forgets that the ledge is about 4 inches wide and she is, um, considerably wider than 4 inches. Sometimes she turns upside down so much that it almost becomes a somersault, but then she falls onto the counter below. Luckily it's less than a foot down. She never stops purring, though, and hops right back up for more petting. She likes to run up the stairs and even at 16 pounds can still jump. She luvs her brother Sammy but still doesn't like Jazzy. She is insanely jealous when Jazzy gets tested. Today I "rewarded" her with a test of her own - 72. That's my girl.
Jazzy seems to have hit a good place now too. Last week I took her to the vet for a recheck of her urine, and it was negative for glucose. She is under renal threshhold almost all the time, except when I mess her up. She is on 12.5 units of Lev, and now that I'm feeling a bit better I have been adding a drop of R here and there. Yesterday she seemed "off," for some reason, so I shot half dose. Even that didn't really mess her up and she is right back on track today. She has started purring for her tests, which is a big improvement over biting me.
91 degrees today - summertime is coming to Charleston! Thank goodness for central air conditioning.
