Happy Caturday ~

Think we have a failed reduction. He didn't get under 89 through the cycle. I fattened up his reduction dose so he is in between 1.25 - 1.5 It's a fat 1.25 or a skinny 1.5 :p

Also, this morning right after I tested him and before he ate, he vomited up some liquid and seemed nauseas smacking his lips. Then he wouldn't eat.:banghead: That never happens with Bubba. And Forrest turned his nose up to the Turkey Kitten Feast FF also. :banghead: So, I played short order cook (which many of you do daily) and opened up Chicken and decided not to put the pumpkin or the enzymes or miralax and water in it and just keep in pure chicken and then they both ate. :)

I don't know if something was off with the turkey or they developed an aversion to it. Of course I have a shelf full of it. ;)

Could it have been the tape worm meds?
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it is making him feel off. Well we'll see. But the food aversion from them both this morning was weird. I didn't put on my SS last night which flavor I gave them for dinner and that is when I put the Drontal tabs in their food. Forrest would have nothing to do with his dinner last night I had to open up another can. And Bubba did not want to eat his either but I kept coaxing him (and actually spoon fed him ) and finally he ate all but a mouthful. So, if the dinner last night was the Kitten Turkey Feast, maybe they developed an aversion to it because of the Drontal tabs. It's anyone's guess. But this not eating food thing is new territory for me and I got a small taste of what many of you go through daily. :banghead: It can turn us all into an Italian Grandmoms, "Mangiare"!

If both got the meds, and both decided to not eat, I would lean towards the meds. And because of that, I think I might wait before I consider Bubba having a failed reduction. Good luck!

Congrats on the Reducie for Bubba, he is being a good little Pirate:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I suppose it's possible the meds might be influencing BG, and/or be the reason why both of them weren't impressed with the kitten turkey. Glad they both ate normally after, all be it a different flavour.
Did he come up from the 47 yesterday just with the LC?
I think you are missing numbers from last nights cycle, there are only two, don't see the 89 you mention??

Sorry about the tablet shenanigans, we're having the same problem with Jasmine, tried hiding the de wormer in cheese, she puked that up:rolleyes: then ate it and re puked it again (droolers:rolleyes:) we had to hold Rosco back from eating the regurgitated cheese:stop: as he had already had his dose. Not sure how we are going to get the tablets in her, if I pill her she pukes them, if I hide them in her regular food she spits them out and how she can tell the difference between the blanks and the loaded treats god only knows? She's a sneaky one.

Opps I forget to add the 89 @+7.5. Yes, Bubba came up with only LC, he usually does. His +2 is 148 so only 26 points for the AM. Maybe I was too hasty in fattening back up his reduction. If he goes to low today, I will take him back to an even 1.5. He seems fine now, sleeping (that's something new!HA) and his breakfast stayed down. I am going to try the kitten turkey again as his snack today. It was always one of his favorites so I hope he ( and Forrest ) haven't developed an aversion to it.

My vet had recommended Profender as the dewormer. It is a liquid that you apply on the skin just like the flea and tick treatments such as Frontline and Revolution. Since I all ready had the Drontal at home I declined it. But, I am getting ready to go pick it up to apply on Forrest since he only ate 1/2 of his dinner last night with the Drontal pills in it. They make the Profender for dogs too so maybe you could look into it for Jasmine.

Yuck about Rosco wanting to rat the regurgitated food. What's with dogs!?

ETA: I think I misspoke and the topical is only available for cats.

BFG has a flea/tick and internal parasite med applied on skin, all in one job, it's a merial product, Broadline. Just got it from vets and need to apply to BFG.

Revolution also tackles all of those parasites too. I have some and have been holding out because I hate putting these poisons on and in my pets. But since Forrest showed up with a dried tapeworm segment on his bum, I have no choice. :blackeye:

Coming down, +4 118. I offered a new can of Kitten Turkey for their snack and lo and behold, they both ate it. So, maybe they are developing an adversion to the pumpkin in their food. :banghead: I do not like fussy cats, I repeat, I do not like fussy cats!

Fussy cats are worse than anything. Try the beech nut baby squash food. I think Smokey prefers that instead of the pumpkin. I have to check to see what other fiber flavors they have.

My vote is that their appetites are a bit wonky because of the worming treatment. (Gee, I wonder how we'd feel if we had to kill off & pass tapeworms, you know?) I'm guessing that Forrest & Bubba are both going to feel much better very soon ...without those unwanted "guests" in their intestinal tracts.;)
