Alice has been doing well, getting so much fatter. So today I just want to celebrate that she weighed in at 2.71kg this evening!!! At her worst moments she was down to about 1.81kg, so basically she has gone from 4lbs to 6lbs.

Thanks to Lantus. And Diabetic Cats in Need. She was never going to get well enough on the NPH.

I am very sure her belly tumor is larger. Addressing the next step is this week...

I took a few days off to do things like sleep and worry about tornadoes. Updated her SS just now. :)

I’m glad Alice is plumping up but sorry about the tumour and tornados. I hope the bright side is you get some sleep and Alice’s numbers are improving!

The tumor is what it is! At least she will be well enough for surgery!
Ooops, did not mean to create a ?? thread title before. :b

I forgot to include her amazing photo shoot earlier. Lol. <3

Good update on Alice gaining some weight, she looks like such a sweet little girl! :bighug: Wishing you tons of luck.

I’m glad she is doing better. Prayers fir mire improvement and that the tumor is successfully removed.

Wow! She looks great!!! Yes thanks to Lantus and DCIN, but never discount all the hard work you’ve put in to getting Alice to this point. Prayers for a quick and successful surgery.

What are you feeding her to gain weight? I have a kitty, Peggy Sue. She's lost a lot of weight recently. She's on clavamox for an infected tooth.

Thank you. I've been thinking about your comment a lot. I did put a lot of myself into her recovery. I am putting a lot in. She's the one who suffered the most though through the process, and she pulled herself through, too. :) We are all glad she's back to being healthier. :)

Wow Ravan has some great numbers!
So it's not the food. She almost exclusively eats friskies chicken and liver pate. In her case the severe wasting I believe has just been the FD. Having enough insulin in her body is allowing her to eat a lot and gain. How many calories is Ravan getting? Alice just ran through almost 20 5.5oz cans of friskies in about 5 days. The total volume she is eating is high right now because she was severely emaciated.
How much is Ravan eating? If she has an infected tooth and is on antibiotics, maybe it is hard for her to eat enough right now? :(

hard for her to eat enough right now

It's not Ravan ,with diabetes, that has lost weight. ( lots of sleepless nights to get Ravan's BG better, worth every minute!)

His sister Peggy Sue started losing weight several months ago. I'm giving her CBD Oil that gets her appetite up & she's eating pretty good, but not gaining any weight.I thought you were giving Alice something extra with high calories.
All 3 of my cats were raised on a raw meat diet. They will occasionally eat some Premium canned food but mostly they eat raw beef, chicken & liver. With supplements added.

Being overweight causes so many problems. I've read so much about how bad it is for them to be heavy. I don't give them treats. For them a piece of Raw liver is a "treat" :)

When Ravan was first diagnosed he went off his Raw diet. I was told to feed him Fancy Feast. I was very reluctant! To me that's "garbage" ! But I was desperate to get him to eat so I bought some & was amazed he did eat it! And he started gaining weight.
I'm so Happy that he's eating his raw diet now . He's getting back to his slim ,trim self :p

If they look slim & healthy I'm satisfied. I never count calories.

Peggy Sue is on the antibiotic for just 5 days now I'm hoping it clears up the infected tooth. She's very thin but in a good mood & even playful. (Probably from the CBD Oil :joyful: )

Good to hear your Alice is eating & gaining some weight! Hope she does well with the surgery :):bighug:

I have device and connectivity issues. This post was made on the 21st. I'm just not constantly online all the time. Also I haven't had any questions the past few days or anything to report so I did not see the point in a new post when I was only responding to the replies here.

As far as Peggy Sue goes, I wonder, how long has she been losing weight? :( has she had all the standard blood work and fecal tests etc?

had all the standard blood work and fecal tests etc?

Yes Last summer her tests showed High liver enzymes. Vet speculated it could mean Liver Cancer. I gave her Milk Thistle & 3 months later her Liver enzymes were back down.

She went off her food in January Test indicated Liver enzymes high again. Peggy Sue's weight loss was kinda quick. Maybe over 8 weeks. Her bottom molar is looking real bad. Dr put her on Clavamox for 10 days then I'll bring her in to be checked.

Most of us check other Posts every day to see how everyone is doing.
Even if we don't have questions .

I would be very interested in her outcome. I hope she is feeling better soon. Poor baby. :(

That makes sense. I'm just not online daily right now but that should get a little easier soon. :) Alice is well though. Soft and cute and fattening up. :)
