Yesterday

I feared worse this morning but was hoping for better at +6. :roll: :lol: :lol: Ah, well, time to threaten a dosecrease. Zener's appy is better the past day and today, so that may partially explain the higher numbers too. He's feeling a little better (probably thanks to more bupe and budesonide), still having trouble getting around.

OT: Anne rescued a baby chipmunk this morning, from the neighbor's cat. We saw the cat go through our yard with something in its mouth and Anne realized it was a bird or a chipmunk so she followed it. The chipmunk seemed unharmed so she caught it and brought it back to our yard where the kitties are not quite such good hunters. (Don't tell Tillie I said that, her feelings will be hurt :lol: :lol: ). They are avid hunters though and highly entertained by watching the critters.

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans. Congrats to Dimitri - OTJ today! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Happy Tuesday, LL!

Anne, you are a wonderful person. Not many would chase down someone else's cat with a trophy in it's mouth! We won't tell Tillie we think the chipmunk is safe in her domain. ;-)

I'm glad Zener's appy is better and he's feeling a little better. I hope he slides down soon. Anne, that's great you were able to save the baby chipmunk.

Some good late in the cycle sliding! Paws crossed it continues tonight. Healing vines for his mobility. :YMHUG:

Hi guys,
I see that Zener has begun his slide. Hope he's getting around better as the day wears on.

Wow on rescuing Chip Chip! Stu caught a baby chipmunk once and I made him drop it. It played dead for a second and then ran off. Rusty has not yet caught a chipmunk, although he'd like to. I fear for our Chip Chip, who has become fat on all those sunflower seeds! Tillie, don't give up!

Zener's got his slide on! But the dosecrease threat is still out there, big guy.

OT: Here is Tillie keeping watch for the baby chipmunk. This is where Anne let it loose but it went in to the neighbor's yard.
OMG! They just caught it and we ran out there. Zener was growling at me! But I grabbed him anyway. The baby looked to be in bad shape but then it jumped up and ran off! Jeesh. Chipmunks must have more lives than cats.

OT 2: There is a fire in Oak Creek canyon, about 30 miles south, and downwind, of us. We can faintly smell smoke here. The wind has died down tonight but it was very gusty today. And the fire is in very steep terrain. Ugh.

Where to begin on this condo...
1. Good job, Zener on the slide and putting the rumors to rest that you and Tillie aren't good hunters! Keep sliding and keep eating and keep feeling better. More vines coming your way.

2. Silly chipmunk! Didn't it know that it was in cat territory!?

4. I have 6 more days with students left for this semester. Seniors graduate this Friday and underclassmen exams are next Tuesday-Thursday!

Sliding down as requested by all of Zener's LL aunties, eating better too. His mobility remains wobbly at times, but then he managed to make a mad dash to corral the chipmunk!

We emailed with our vet on Sunday and she suggested we try giving the Budesonide BID and we've been doing that for a couple of days now. That may be why he is feeling (and eating) better and why the BG numbers are on the up and up. We kind of forgot the steroids do that, silly beans. We'll keep an eye on where he's going with these numbers and increase in another cycle or two if things stay pinky. It would be nice for MamaLizBean if Zener doesn't go all green lagoon crazy while she is BIC. (I'll be in Germany for five days, leaving on Saturday).

@Ella - I leave for Bonn, Germany on Saturday for a quick trip (five days and four darks) to work with the Paralympic Committee on a project. Zener likes us calling him a naturalist, he feels so very scientific!

@Deborah & Shasta - hang in there, the semester will come to a merciful end soon. ;-)
