Ugh, I am not liking these numbers but patience pants are on. Let's see what today brings. The big guy seems to be feeling good although it's time to do an anal gland check. :roll: Poor Zener, he has narrow hips and it's very painful to get them expressed but he sure feels better after that. Appy was good this morning. He had a picnic and very brief yard patrol. I did a little bowl chasing but he ate in every spot (footstool, floor, picnic table, bed in Anne's office, window in my office) :lol: :lol: :lol: .

C'mon, Zener...I heard a thinly veiled dosecrease threat there, so it's time to work it! Poor little guy with the glands issue, but like you said, he'll feel much better when all is said and done.

Hi Liz & Anne. I hope Zener can bring his numbers down and avoid the dosecrease but wish you the best if one is necessary. I feel for the poor guy having to get his anal glands drained. Hopefully he will feel better and bring his numbers down after the procedure.

Aww poor Z-man ~ hang in there, my friend, you'll feel better afterwards.

I think Ripley has been reading Zener's condo ~ did the Food Chase this morning: table, couch, floor, couch, floor, nightstand, bed, nightstand.... both she and I got some exercise this morning.

Well, well....it's the dosecrease threat in action. Zener on the slide is so much better than flat stinky pinky.

@Amy & TrixieCat - yes, a definite dosecrease threat, and now he's working this dose. Our poor guy needs his anal glands expressed just about every month, one thing we have not mastered, so it's off to the vet we go. His favorite tech, Kate the Cat Whisperer, has moved away for school. :evil:

@Donna & Frosty - I hope I have the right bean name! Maybe Z knows he has an appointment to get his glands expressed and is feeling better already? ;-)

@Josie & Ripley - we have the food chase so regularly, it is a shock when he comes and asks for fuds. ECID. :lol: Glad you got your exercise in the fuds bowl relay today. :roll: It is true these kitties will read condos, and there have been reported instances of kitters sending texts to each other. Sly rascals. :twisted:

Guess we will get a mid-cycle test too, he's on the slide. :cool:

It sure looks like Zener heard you and took a nice slide down to blue! Just a little more Zener, and Green Lagoon! Mags has never had her anal glands expressed. Is that just a boy kitty thing? Glad he had a picnic and brief yard patrol, too. Hope you guys are having a nice day.

Tillie needs her anal glands done too, but not as often as Zener. I don't know if boys are more likely to have that problem or not. Good question, Ann!

I've heard that it is more common in dogs than in cats. But Rusty needs his "done" every few months. The signal is when he "scoots" a lot.

Z Man, you did well today with your slide and it looks like you might be in the lagoon soon. The LagoonMeister is on the shore, but he's keeping an eye on the surfing kitties.

It's been a calm evening and the mighty Z has dropped back to blue. We go to the vetty tomorrow for the anal gland expression, poor guy. He will feel sooo much better when it's over.

@Ella & Rusty - well, not likely to the lagoon tonight, but no stinky pinky! We are looking forward to a mud picture! :-D

@Dyana - thanks for cheering for the green, tomorrow is another day! ;-)

@Deborah & Shasta - oh poor Shasta. It must feel miserable to need the procedure, we shall hope for sweet relief! :shock:

@Marje - we're still not sure he will settle in with this reduction, we'd never had back to backers before, but things are looking a little more promising today. :razz:

Our hearts are heavy here tonight after reading punkin's last condo. julie and punkin greeted us soon after we arrived in LL and taught us so many lessons about testing, drawing up insulin and offering so much support with all of Zener's appy issues. We laughed and cried with the tales of punkin and Anya's journey to Colorado, and always loved to hear about punkin's eating prowess. We will miss punkin terribly. Sending lots of love to julie, DH and anya as they travel through their grieving. Safe journey to the bridge to our noble punkin. We will keep a loving eye on your beloved anya and your ever loving beans in the days ahead. :cry:
 
Yeah blue! Good luck at the vet--poor little guy (and poor Gobs--we do that at home--it must hurt because he squirms quite a bit :roll: )
