Looking at Baxter's spreadsheet, I'm starting to wonder if he does need different doses. I don't know. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. He has not had any change in food .

Thank you!
Cindy

It's not a good idea to shoot different doses in the AM and PM because of the depot. If you shoot different doses, the depot has to constantly adjust and you won't be able to see what Baxter can do with a dose. It looks like Baxter is a bouncy kitty. I know it is frustrating, but the best thing to do is to follow the protocol and eventually the bouncing should settle down.

Ok.... makes sense. Yes Baxter is a bouncy kitty. I think I will keep him on 3.25 units for awhile and see. Thx!

I agree with Carla. Shooting different amounts doesn't work well with Lantus. If you really feel like you need to be able to adjust the dose based on pre-shot values, ProZinc is a better option.

That said, you're right -- Baxter is bouncy. Gabby was much the same way. Jill/Alex was instrumental in helping me to get the bouncing under control. You need to look for a goal of blue pre-shot and green mid-cycle numbers. In order to get there, you need to maximize the amount of insulin you're giving while at the same time, not allowing Baxter's numbers to drop into dose reduction territory. If the numbers are looking like they're dropping, intervene with food. If you look at Gabby's SS, you'll get a sense of how I would manage her numbers.
