Happy Sunday all! Just got home from my long week at work and am totally looking forward to 2 days off! So happy to see Scrabble's ambg 61, woo hoo! Gonna figure out the auto feeder today and get the kitties used to it. They just ate their breakfast and cleaned the plate. Scrabble is busy chasing a large misquito that came in with me when I got home. He loves catching them and eating them, he usually leaves a couple of legs on the floor, lol!

oooo - another bug eater. I have one of those. Always makes me laugh when they leave one appendage. What is up with that?

Bazooka, I remember it! I used the Feeder, and works great, after one mishap. Don't forget to use the Manual Advance button before closing. The instructions are pretty clear on the lid, but i still screwed up the first time. :roll: Scrabble is off to a good start this Sunday!

Scrabble gets a little extra protein, and he caught it himself!! Way to go, Scrabble!!
Yes, it's very important to use the "advance" button before closing the lid. And even then, make sure you push it enough times to get the first compartment exactly centered in the opening. Otherwise it'll go between compartments and the cats won't be able to get their heads in!!! I suggest a trial run: put something in the next compartment, set the time, and see if it centers. (I use a walnut).

Thanks for the info on the feeder everyone! Do you guys freeze your food before putting it in there or keep it cold? Just wondering how to keep it fresh if they are not going to eat it for a few hours??
Scrabble woke me up this morning wanting to snuggle with Mama, too cute!

I do not used a timed feeder, but I know some suggestions on the board are to mix your can of canned food with water & then dallop scoops into an icecube tray, cover..plaze in freezer & voila hours later you have kitty popsicle cubes (kittysicles) ;-) Have a wonderful few days off..... you will be rested up for Baby's Party!!

We like our kitties to self-feed, so I guess bugs count!

Wow! Scrabble keeps amazing me! I set up the auto feeder and fed them out of it tonight. It was funny to watch them both try to eat out of it. They eat together. Scrabble would put his head in to eat and then Sabrina would nudge her head in, they both took turns eating it was cute! I am going to put food in it for their night feeding now and have it open for them so they can get used to the sound. I will probably have to show them but I am sure they will figure it out soon enough! Going to enjoy some wine and a movie tonight! Have a great night everyone!
 
Just had to share this, I just set up the auto feeder to go off with treats in it and I called kitties to the kitchen a few minutes before it was to open. It opened and they both jumped. Scrabble was the first one to go over and check it out and he realized there was treats in it so he took one and went running into the dining room with it like he was getting away with something. Sabrina(who is a major scaredy cat) looked at the feeder like it was an alien. She crouched down low and made her way over to it and saw the treats also and got one out. There was 6 treats in there, they took turns going back and forth to get a treat. When I feed them later on tonight I will do the same thing so they get used to the sound. It was so funny I wished I had video taped it!!

Michelle did you have them eat out of the timed feeder with it open to let them get used to it. When I bought my timed feeder the directions said not to use the timer right away.
 
Hi Michelle,
I had my auto feeder set for 10 pm last night and went to bed early. When I got up, the food still in it but later on in the morning she ate it. It must take a while for them to get used to it. Miriam has a good suggestion on leaving it open.
 
Hi Miriam & Maggie! Yes I fed them their evening meal in it without using the timer, I am going to use the timer & show them the feeder when it goes off so they get used to it. They are pretty smart so I think it will be pretty easy! Off to bed, see ya in the am!:)
