Sam and Oliver just came blasting through the cat door off the porch. I don't know if they were fighting or what but both of them were all puffed up! I didn't see anything and after Sam's test and some food, they both went outside again. One of my chickens died last night too. Very gross.

I have a funny chicken story , well it's my dh's story and it happened 37+ years ago in Louisiana.

His best friend in his younger years had a labrador that would jump the fence and leave and run off. A real rascally troubleseeker. :roll:
This dog was allergic to chickens... they discovered that when he had killed a neighbors chicken.
When the dog would come home, his face would be covered in lumps /welts and he'd get really sick from it all.

The owner would try to keep the dog home... sometimes had him on a chain when he wasn't home but one day he pulled the chain out
and left the yard... again.
The neighbor with the chickens came over just as the dog owner came home from work and said one of his chickens was gone and he was certain that dog had been there.
The dog owner was sure it couldn't be his dog again since he was chained but they go around to the back yard and sure enough,
the dog was loose and his face was covered in welts and probably a few feathers and was sick.
Tale-tail tails.
I think he had to give the dog to a family member out in the country who didn't have chickens around.

I hope your chicken didn't have that kind of encounter but if it was gross, I'm guessing it did.

Nice drop to the Lagoon for Samwise. Maybe a coyote got the chicken and was back casing the place for another raid and that is what Sam & Oliver saw.
