Morning ~O) ~O) Maggie had a nice day yesterday. Her AMPS is a bit on the high side I believe because I had a difficult time getting a drop, even with warming the ear. She has one spot that's sore where I have Neosporin, and I'm trying to poke around it or poke the other ear. The other ear doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Poor Mags and she is so patient. I've been using the lancet on its own and may return to the pen. All P's are good today with extra purring and now sleeping. I don't know why I'm so tired this am, as Mags let me sleep all night or I didn't wake to hear her.

Aw...I know what you mean. Trix has some sore spots on her little ears, too...she's still so sweet, which really make me hate that she's diabetic. I've never tried lancing without the pen, but I'm pretty sure I'd never be able to do it.

I hope you can get some rest today...being tired is so annoying! I'm feeling it too...plus it's gray and drizzly here, which is making me even sleepier!

Hear you on the eras - Mannie's too, and Neo-sporin to the rescue. So I try to work arounf the sore spot - he is so patient, and let's me do my thing. I free hand too - it just works better for me.

Hi Amy, I guess all our kitties get those little sore spots. This time I got a spot of blood with two small pokes while she was sleeping. Isn't it amazing they're so patient, as I know it has to hurt them sometimes.

Hi Michelle, thanks for the cyber coffee. I love it until I can get some real strong Starbucks or even McDonalds will do! It's been cloudy here the past two days which is good for walking but seems to make me sleepy in the mornings.

I hear ya on the ear soreness. I feel bad, that I have to keep using the same ear, 'cause the other is hard to get blood from.

Maggie's looking great!

Ruby's right ear (if she's facing away from me) just will not give up a sample without a fight. I feel bad using her left ear all the time but its a lot let squeezing and milking to get a large enough drop.

Maggie's coming down nicely!!! I can only use one of Champ's ears because the other one just doesn't want to bleed!!

Well, even though she didn't want to give up that drop things are looking great today. I'm lucky i can use both ears w/ Tess. Have you tried the really small lancets? I often have to poke twice, but she never gets any sores. She used to when we used the larger size.

I have to catch up, did you get your car fixed?

Hi Barb, Amy, Pat & Shadow, Patty & Champ and Lisa and thanks for the visits. It does seem like we all have the same dilemma with the one ear being better to poke. The other ear just seems so sensitive, too.

Pat & Shadow, yes for the sleepover. Maggie has her bags packed and is ready to leave any time.

Ann & Tess, I tried different sizes. Right now I have some CV Ultra Thin 30 Gauge. I also have some AT 28 gauge lancets from Anne & Liz. Just lately I've been experiencing a problem, and Mags is jerking. I bet the pen would help.

Her ear gets a bump on the top because the tip of her ear is the best spot...& around the edge..
No touching the other ear :o She doesnt like that! I could never do free hand...

Nice day for Miss Maggie! :-D A little more green next time Mags. Tarragon has one ear like that. It has a nice callous built up. The other ear doesn't bleed well.

Wow, Mags that is some action this cycle! We used to only poke the left ear then we started using the right one too. We are free-handers and usually apply neosporin almost every night. We also put about 10 seconds of pressure on the poke after the test. His ears are doing pretty well but have developed a little bit of scarring.
