Good Morning All,

Stu is waiting patiently at the back door to go out. He seems to have had an active night: all the food was eaten and all the toys were in different locations this morning! I guess he likes his new dose. We'll see what happens with his numbers. We're heading down to our "camp" this afternoon to get it set up and to be in place for a paddle we're leading tomorrow. ONe problem is that we don't have internet there, so my posts will be erratic. I will be able to post from our friend's house, 1/2 mile away, however. So don't worry if you don't see Stu's numbers or a post from me this evening. I'll visit some condos today, before we leave. Tomorrow evening I will definitely be posting from our friend's house. And on Friday morning we come back home. I will be recording Stu's numbers in his book so that I can get his SS up to date whenever I have internet access.
The weather looks like it is going to be good. More later, before we leave.

Hi Miriam, Yes, wherever we go, Stu goes too (but not in the canoe!). Essentially, in the 4+ years Stu has had FD we have set up our lives so that we don't have to leave him with sitters or board him at the vet's. Of course, we always go to the same places and don't do trips. But we're lucky that we have neat places to go to!

Hi Pat, It's not really a "camping" trip. Seasonal places in this part of the world are called "camps". Camps can be any size and any degree of luxury (the famous Adirondack "great camps" of the 19th and early 20th centuries, owned by the railroad barons and banking families are good examples). Our "camp" is a small 1-room cabin with a porch. We do have electricity and "facilities", but have to get our drinking water from our friend's house down the road. They have use of the camp, (they are the former owners and don't have lake access at their house), and they take care of it. We just pay the taxes! It's a great symbiotic relationship. We have been friends for over 20 years.

Yo Shad-0. Yeah man, there ARE bears (and coyotes, too). My beans don't let me go outside. But I have a great porch and I can watch everything that goes on. You come visit me, OK? We can hunt mice.

Stu we will miss you but hope you have a great time at camp!!-Beans will be paddling around, Stu will be observing wildlife & enjoying the great outdoors, while in the safety of his cabin & porch--What a lucky cat you are!! Beans Never Leave you!!-Vacations, trips--What a life!!

Sounds like everyone will have fun. You'll get some paddling and Stu can have some mice. And look at that, he's already giving you a blue number this morning. He must be looking forward to the mice. Have a fun trip!

Well, despite 4 small meals this morning Stu has had a big drop! I guess the new dose really is working! I fed him some LC and hope he can surf in green (but not go any lower!). All of the MC and HC food has been packed. Also Karo. We won't be leaving until after +6 or so, so his nadir will probably have been reached. I'll get in 2 tests before we go. (And, of course, we can test at camp, we just can't easily post his numbers.)

Stu - dude! you got a 49!?!?! Way to go! Can I come and hunt mice too? Your cabin sounds really cool! And keep those really nice numbers coming - keeps our beans on their toes! ~~ Mannie

Get the feeling that Stu thought it was completely unreasonable for you to pack the HC food? You might want to get a +5 to make sure he's surfing.

Well, it looks like Stu is starting his vacation early today!! It's so nice that you guys can take Stu everywhere you go. That has to take a lot of pressure off of you.

Enjoy your paddle and your camp and I hope that Stu decideds tht it's ok to come up just a little and then surf those greens!!

Ella, ya'll don't sit still long. It all sounds great but I get tired just reading about it.
The camp sounds picturesque and wonderful. What a great place to hideout a few days.

Anxious to see the next number...is he going to make you unpack?

Stu - trying to make it difficult for your mamabean - just one more thing to worry about today! It is ok - she really didn't throw the HC out - just packed it away out of your sight. Hope you are having a good surf and enjoy the time at the camp!

Hey kitties! You're all invited to come and hunt mice. I'm going to cook them up into a stew. I don't have time to send personal invitations, so come one, come all. We'll have a party tomorrow while my beans are out leading the paddle!

Stu-Wow, you are awesome! I can't wait to come to your party. I've never been to the woods; is it scary? Maybe Blackie will swing by and pick me up, and then Shadow can meet us in PA. My geography skills aren't as good as your cooking skills. Anyway, I don't care how I get there, but I can't wait! I'll see you tomorrow.

HI Ella - Mannie just headed on out the door - something about mice stew and time with Stu. He was grumbling something too as he ran out the door about how he doesn't have cool things like that at home. :lol: Whoa - party at Stu's! and Mice stew!

Enjoy the paddle time - sounds wonderful! As are Stu's numbers! Excellent!

Why, Mr. Stu....Camp must be a wonderful place to be...look at those impressive numbers!!!! Hunting mice and making a nice mouse stew is something that really agrees with you and I hope you teach Spot how to do that tomorrow when he comes by to party with you while your beans are out for a paddle.

I just told Max about the mouse stew and the woods. He's knid of afraid of both (he told me not to tell) but I know he would love to go.
I will tell him all will be okay and that his "outdoor friends" will explain what everything is.
