yesterday's condo

punkin was loud and obnoxious this morning. or maybe he was his usual purr & cheer and i was just extra tired. he's eating now.

i fattened the dose a little - he's been sitting up in these yellows for the past week. see if we can get him down a bit.

How could that sweet sweet face ever be loud and obnoxious??? :lol: :lol: Good luck with the fattening up. I hope it brings Punkin down.

I have been extra tired every day it seems since we have become part of this special group. I used to sleep all the way through the night. Now it is up and down all night long just to make sure he is resting peacefully. Makes sense in some strange way. :smile:

I think it was a combination of both you being extra tired and him being obnoxious :lol:

Champ's being a little obnoxious this morning, too!!! Tried to bite me when I gave him a scratchin'! The little pea-brain :-D All he succeeded in doing was have me stop the scratching.

ugh - he's going the wrong way. this is the most discouraging thing to deal with. my analytical brain wants straightforward cause and effect, so i can cause the effect i want. :lol: *imagine baby stomping feet*

ok, done whining. back to the regular programming. i think i'll go get another dr pepper - that always cheers me up.

i've tackled some of the left-over mess from the remodeling. i don't know how we got a bigger kitchen but can't fit it all back in. hmmmm. anyway, i'm bound and determined to get the row of boxes against the wall between the kitchen and dining room dealt with. our son is having some friends over for another grad party on saturday night, including some significant adults in his life, and i'd like to have it looking decent.

so off i go. i appreciate all of you stopping by - it lifted my discouraged spirits. we're all in this together, i guess.

and yes, melissa, this is so much like having a baby it's not funny - only my babies were 19-24 years ago and i'm that much older now. yikes!

oh, i hate those days.

those are the days i always looked at him and said, you know it's supposed to be a U shaped curve, not a bell curve, right?

one time i was so frustrated i went so far as to draw a picture for him on our white board. he just started at me, probably thinking- you are a crazy cat lady. congratulations. you have officially hit that mark.

Good luck on the kitchen. When it comes to boxes and packing, I was always impressed by books- they seemed to reproduce inside the boxes, no matter how many you started with, you always ended up with more as you unpacked.

Julie, thank you for your thoughts and insight as to what might be going on with him.. Thank you also for explaining about the 2 types of bacteria.. Most of all, thank you for being my friend even though we've never met...
I'll check back later to see how your row of boxes played out.. I hope Punkin comes back down for you....

I hear the obnoxious! GL with finding room for everything... I think kitchens are connected to another dimension that periodically throws random appliances, pots and pans, dishes, and silverware through because I don't know how I ended up with as much as I have and that is clearly the only solution :lol: :lol:

ohmygosh, you guys cracked me up. thanks for the laughs!!!!

i got 2 boxes dealt with and a pile of clutter in the dining room. i had this horrible thought the other day that was "my decorating style is 'Pile Style.'" :lol: :lol:

all you can do is laugh at yourself. and hope the other dimension sucks some of the stuff back out. i did come up with an impressive pile of recycling, so that's good.

punkin's at least got a nadir today - he's down to 170. not bad, not what i'd like, but i'll take it! he seems like he feels great. couple of rounds of kitty wrestling this morning, nap downstairs, but he came up the stairs when i called. this is my latest tactic for making him exercise. i make him walk up the stairs instead of going and getting him to test. he zips through the first half of the stairway then slows down and takes them one at a time. but for 13 i think that's great.

his hair has also refluffed, so i think when i'm not watching he's been bathing. yay!

It's ok, our decorating style is "shove everything into closets and if it doesn't fit buy additional storage type stands with drawers from places like pier one... style"... :lol: :lol:

I was going through some cupboards awhile ago when I was rearranging my kitchen to fit my new non-coated stainless steel pans (DH thinks they were thrown through the portal and well, I don't know how they got there so no corrections from me ;-) :lol: )and I was like "WHAT THE... QUESODILLA MAKER? Where did this even come from.........." Seriously, I have no idea... Ice Bucket? FOR WHAT!?

I am glad Punkin is feeling better! What a nice blue he is giving you today. Sounds like he's improving a lot... but ofc he can't let you see that, silly, you might stop doting over him or employing his services as kitty dishwasher. :lol:

it's okay, our decorations are currently: the living room looks amazing! (don't look in the bedroom where we stashed all our crap to make the living room look amazing)

ohmygosh that's too funny. had to read both of your posts out loud to the family! i have gone through the decorating style of "buy more storage thingies" and still employ the "put it in the bedroom and no one opens the bedroom door" styles! :lol:

my mom was the queen of "slide it into a box or bag and put it in the garage" style. i emptied out all those boxes and bags after she passed away. i try desperately not to do that one, but do confess that i learned at the feet of the master, and i mighta done it once or twice! ;-)

but i did good going through all the stuff. got 1/2 of the laundry room closet emptied out, but unfortunately, i recycled 1/2 of that, threw away 1/4, and the remaining 1/4 exploded out all over the place. so now it's worse than it was before and i'm tired and not going to deal with it tonight. :lol: :-D

just like a zit, right? gets worse before it gets better.

however, i'm feeling more philosophical and not as troubled about punkin's numbers. we keep on plugging.. thanks for cheering me up today!

Oh don't get me wrong.. I employ the "shove all these things into the closet.... style" but in order to do it properly, like a pro, you have to have the big plastic tubs which is perfect because in the event that we ever need to burn things for heat for survival I will get quite a few sturdy, large litter boxes out of it.

We recently emptied our under stairs storage so we could put a litter box there. There's still quite a lot crammed into that tiny space and we often hear things fall over because someone becomes too adventurous during their expeditions to China (they must think they are climbing the Great Wall)... but at least we can close that door now when we have company so it looks like we're less of crazy cat people that we actually are (my apartment is like 1000sq ft, I have 5 boxes so any of them that I can hide is just amazing).

Since we lost that storage completely, we practice the "shove all this stuff including a box spring, 4 snowboards, an old school TV that's older than me, 4 years worth of text books, and my DH's retro video game collection into the spare bedroom which no one is allowed to use out of fear that the closet may explode at any moment causing a dangerous landslide of ancient technology and childhood nicknacks (seriously, ancient technology weighs like 30lbs regardless of what it is)... style"

We have a 6'x 6' media shelf (so it's really thin) that is PACKED FULL of JUST video games. The cats always scare me so badly because they try to play king of the mountain on top of it. I don't even know how they get up there but it never ceases to give me a heart attack and I can't reach them to get them down without assistance!

I am glad I could cheer you up! I feel bad for posting so much OT in your condo (I will be better tomorrow), but if it gives you some laughs that help you better deal with anything that arises with Punkin, I am glad I could be of assistance. I would like to see his Pre-Shots a little bit lower but it seems like he is feeling pretty good lately!

I agree with Barb, your condo made me giggle a little and i totally have done all the stuff you are all talking about! LOL at Mococo for drawing her kitter a picture on a white board!!!!

Punkin....loud and obnoxious?!?! I don't believe it, he looks like such a sweet boy in his avatar, and he looks like everyday is a great hairday for him! He had a good day, at least he got into some blues today, in my books any day with a blue in it is a great day!
