Cmon Lando, keep holding it! :D I believe in you, bubbie! <3

Is it normal to see Lando having a few high days after a reduction then potentially dropping to nice numbers again? Is there adjustment period for his body? Didn't see this much at higher doses but now that we're going so low on his dose I'm wondering if his pancreas is wanting to work a little to compensate for the smaller amount of insulin!

Morning, Tank and Lando! I’m not an expert, but what you said sound right to me. Hopefully others will weigh in. You guys are doing great, keep up the good work!!

There is just an adjustment period after a reduction as the old depot ends and likely a bit of a bounce. There’s also new dose wonkiness.

When does he get food?
He gets food at +1.5,+3,+4.5,+6, and +8 1/2ish as soon as I get home from work :)
On non-work days the schedule is the same but I usually give him an earlier snack that he'd normally get when I'm home from work, usually around +7 or +8 instead. I've noticed when I run full curves at home the +10 is ALWAYS the highest number then he drops a tad for +12. Even if I change up his feeding times. It's weird :D:rolleyes: he'll either be lower or close to +10 at PMPS and it's almost always been a hard rule for him.

And sure enough we had an 87 green for PMPS yesterday!

Can you stop feeding him after +6? Or does he get stomach acid or just plain hangry?

If you are feeding at +8.5, the +10 is food influenced. Late in the cycle, the insulin action isn't strong enough to counteract food and that can lead to loss of duration.

Where the pancreas are producing some insulin - which might be the case with Lando - food can bring down numbers after 3 hours since the pancreas produce insulin in response to food.

Some cats also do what is called a Lantus "double-dip". Their numbers go down to the nadir and then up again and at the end of the cycle, there is a second dip which is shallower than the nadir.

I can do that no problem. He DOES get super hangry and can be prone to barfing an hour before dinner, but he'll survive.... It's funny you say that though, I didn't always feed after +6, I only recently started doing so out of curiosity if that would make his curve a little more gentle, as I wondered if the fact that I USED to fast him after about +6 made him bounce towards the ends of the cycle. But I'm starting to think he IS a double dipper, if *ever* so slightly.

On the other hand, he's doing great on that reduction!
