Oh my goodness, today is day 14 of her trial and she has done it.
Starting this journey, I was absolutely terrified. I slowly started to become confident in my ability to care for Kloey and look at us now 14 days OTJ. Without the help of the wonderful people on this board, with special credits to Bhooma and Elise who walked and talked with me to calm my nerves each and every day and night through this.
There is something special in each and everyone of you here. The time and effort put out is nothing short of amazing.
I am so proud of my Kloey, she has done so good.

What a great job you have done Patty, following TR and trusting the process, shooting greens and testing into the wee hours. Annnnnnnnnnnnd now I'm getting all misty-eyed because people doing so much for their fur-friends is such a wonderful wonderful thing to see. Gives me hope for humanity, seriously.

Oh, they are my children. I am so happy to see so many so involved with the care of their fur babies. You are right gives you hope for humanity. Thanks Kyle for all the encouragement. Now let's get Hendrick here. I'll be following him. Lol

In case you haven't read this
Once she is through the trial successfully, you enter a new phase. Your cat is still diabetic but has now become diet-controlled. Continue feeding low carb food in the manner successful for your kitty. If you decide to change her feeding schedule, let your meter be your guide to the best times to feed. Avoid medications with sugar in them and steroid medications unless they are medically essential. Continue testing blood glucose weekly for the first month and then monthly forever. It's a good idea to weigh her monthly. Weight should remain stable. If she seems "off" or sick, or is showing signs of diabetes (excessive drinking, eating, urinating, weight loss), test her blood glucose right away. Keep the teeth and gums clean and healthy; dental issues can bring a cat out of remission. If you see rising blood glucose numbers, it's time for a visit to the vet!
