We’re winding down here. As we prepare to say goodbye, we’re reminded of what a rock our little man has been for the family. Squeeze your babies and squeeze them tight.

Hamilton has been generous with his love and his sister, Rooney, is feeling the heaviness of his illness. She wakes up every couple hours to check on him and groom him. We are so lucky to have been a part of this kind of love.

It’s so hard, but if we were in his paws and reached a point where we didn’t want cuddles, we didn’t want to be bothere, what would we want? I so wish they could speak to us. He’s been poked and prodded and shaved and examined to excess. And he’s been gracious through it all. It’s time to extend that same grace to him. Though, knowing that, doesn’t soften the hurt.
