Yesterday's Needling Frustrations
Late, as usual. Rushed, too. Same old story.
Thanks to Elise, Rose and Linda for stopping by yesterday's condo earlier today.
Unfinished business from yesterday: I went to a local medical supply store and got an IV pole for about $35. I put it as high as I can where I can still see the marks. When I'm doing fluids alone, it has to be lower as I'm more bent over Minka. When DH is helping, I don't have to keep my hand on her, as he keeps her still. Before that, we put it on a clothes hanger and hung it from one of those bars you put on the back of your door in the bathroom. The kitties were always more tense in there. Minka is much more relaxed on a pillow on the sofa, especially when it's on DH's lap!
Cinco has had a lovely day so far. He really enjoyed his new duties as deputy to Rusty in the lagoon. Now I'm just praying and crossing everything in the hopes he'll be a good boy tonight. I have to leave for the San Francisco airport to pick up DH about +3, and I'll likely be gone 3.5-4 hours. Otto will, of course, be called into service and I'll be checking him before I leave. Please be good, Cinco.
Minka has had a pretty good day. She ate her breakfast (second option offered) without much fuss, had a couple of snacks during the day and cleaned her dinner plate in one go
. So, of course, her next chemo is tomorrow.
This is the last treatment in this cycle, and then we reassess to see if there will be more treatments. Paws crossed this is the end of chemo!!!!!!!!!!!
Sasha's appy is still iffy, but a bit better. She has discovered freeze dried salmon and it seems to work pretty well to get her to eat just about anything (anti-jinx), so I've gotten a decent amount into her. I plan to make an appointment for her annual exam this week, and her next oncology recheck is due next week. I am a little concerned about the apparent weakness in her legs. She doesn't go very far without stopping and crouching down for a while, and she stumbles more than she did before. Some days are better than others. Of course, it could be arthritis, which would not be surprising with the joint issues in her back legs, but I want to have her regular vet check it all out. It's hard enough for her to get around on three legs without adding discomfort into the mix.
Harvey's appetite is back at full force today. I haven't had to trot out the chicken and broth or baby food for anyone for a change (ANTI-JINX). However, I'm sure I'll be having an interested audience shortly when I cook my chicken!
Gotta go get my dinner so I can get everyone's meds, Minka's fluids, etc. done before leaving for the airport. Sorry I haven't been visiting much lately, but now that DH will be home, hopefully I'll have a little more time online.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie, Georgia & Simon, and Rose & Zoey.
Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.
