Good morning!
AMPS 184 shooting 1F
Ok Boomer time to work the juice!

Boomer ate most of his overnight fuds but left a bit in each dish.

Allen ate ok last night but like usual I wish he would eat more. We spoke with Dr Larry briefly yesterday when we took Allen in for his bloodwork (ionized calcium) and Dr Larry wants us to give Allen sub q fluids. sigh. Neither of us believe that we'll be able to do this as Allen isn't being the docile cat that we thought he was lol. But I said we'd try. First attempt might be today.

On Boomer's menu today: AMPS chicken pate, +3 chicken pate, +6 ff seafood, +9 chicken pate

A cold front came through last night and right now it's quite chilly although it's supposed to warm up nicely. This Bean has a "gender reveal" session tonight at 7:00 (+11). My customers are going to find out at the session whether they're having a boy or a girl by popping a large white balloon that is being filled by either smaller blue balloons or smaller pink balloons.

Today's photo is of one of two Grackles that have been visiting my yard and stealing all the seed.

Big drop from that 178 to 88 the other night....not Boomer like. Looks like a mini bounce and of course the depot is wonky from the NS and the FS. Boomer, try to work the juice little man. I wish you luck with the fluids. So many give them but I couldn't imagine. Moo would certainly kill me if we had to do it so hopefully she just stays a healthy kitty.

Have fun with the session, that's a pretty cool thing!

We've done fluids before but not with either Boomer nor Allen. I can't imagine that this is going to go well but we will give it a shot.

Boomer - work it, we want your normal green!

I was a little apprehensive with Neko and fluids too. I made sure I warmed the bag, and did it when she was snoozy and cozy in the warmth, and it worked out. I presume you've seen Marje's great video on giving fluids. I found doing it in the bathroom, with Neko on a heat reflective mat and in front of a warm air vent really helped. The bonus was I could hang the bag on the shower rod to get good height.

@Wendy&Neko how did you warm the bag? We never warmed the bag when we gave our baby Snickers fluids and I'm pretty sure the vets don't warm the fluids so it actually never occurred to me until I watched that video.

I put warm water in a loaf pan and rest the bag in there. I, or rather DH, bought an infrared thermometer for me to use. He had always wanted one. And was pretty cheap. Check your local tool store. I haven't seen a vet warm the fluid, but they seem to be quieter if you do so. Neko always complained when I gave her Cartrophen, which had to be kept in the fridge.

Hi Judy
When I was giving sub q fluids at home I was using a very large syringe thatbthey told me about on Tanya's ckd site and then I was buying the needles that attached in from thriving pets. I would draw up the saline from the bag and then I'd wrap the syringe in a heating pad for about 20 minutes. The syringe can be re used about 10x before you need to toss. I found the syringe easier than hooking up the line direct to the bag but everyone is different.
