Looks like Sheba is having a bit of a bounce after a few good cycles. The bounces have been lower than before so I am pleased with that. Little steps, little steps....as long as they are in the right direction.
This morning I called into my vet to get a new script for levemir. I am very lucky to have such a lovely guy for a vet.
He was very pleased to hear Sheba's numbers are better. I explained how she drops fast and how I am managing it with food or honey. He was surprised that a tiny drop of honey could stop or slow the drop. He also asked how low she goes when the preshot is low....was it more of a flat line. He was interested that the onset for levemir was later than for glargine. (I am the only one in his practice to use levemir and he calls Sheba his guinea pig). I told him the lowest she had ever been was 2.1 (38)
and he asked what hypo symptoms she was showing. When I said none, he was very surprised.
He also asked what times I fed her during the day and was interested in the feeding the drop concept and how the drop can trigger a bounce. When I told him I used an automatic feeder he was very interested and asked all about it. He said he thinks the feeder would be great for all his diabetic patients, so I am going to take mine in to show him.
Thanks Lori, Molly, Ella and Steve for visiting yesterday.
Lagoon Meister.......I am in the woods too but am looking for the slippery slide to the lagoon.......Sheba
