Good Morning Everyone,

Rusty is still trending high, even with the extra drop of juice. I don't think he's sick. But I do think the weather is a factor. He is sleeping after breakfast, not playing, but later in the day he is getting good exercise outdoors (when it's not raining). He has good appetite and good litterbox contributions. He is his very sweet self. We've been home from the city for a week today, so hopefully he'll get back on track with his bgs. I worried that the new insulin cartridge might be bad, but we've had enough lower numbers to quash that thought. Probably the last new cartridge in the old pack--which I thought was questionable--is OK, too. I think I'll use both in tandem so as not to waste any.

I think we had rain last night, and it looks right now as if it is going to pour. They say that we will have 70% chance of rain through Friday and sunshine on Saturday. The cellar is a mess still. Can't wait for Saturday!!!

Sending special prayers and positive thoughts for Butthead and Miss Emily today, also healing vines to all kitties not feeling well.

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Morning guys!

Not too bad this morning, maybe Rusty just needs to settle into the new dose? You are still giving the added drop, yes? I would think too that the weather is a factor - it can effect their mood, etc. I hope he comes down soon for you.

dry weather karma coming your way. it simply has got to let up. I can only imagine how tired you are of it all.

Any paddles planned yet? Or is the weather too much of a factor?

Have a great day guys.

Rusty! You need us today? Bucket brigade is ready, willing and able! Or maybe we could go play with the dune buggys of sumthin'... See you ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Hope Rusty readjusts to being home and his BG's follow suit.

Ugh this rain is never ending, hope your cellar holds.

Have a good day

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Just popping in to say hi. Do you have a fridge in NY or a neighbor that will keep a cartridge in the fridge for you there? That way you won't have to worry about transporting it or it going bad due to travelling?

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Good morning Ella & Rusty! It seems like the rain will never end for you. It is finally raining here and we can really use it. I hope the dry weather moves in quick and that you have a great day!

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

I think you're right and Rusty needs to settle into the dose. You went up and down a couple of times in a week, maybe a little NDW? I know he is so well regulated this makes you nervous, but he is still doing great! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Rusty, more bucket brigade? The bucket races were fun yesterday and we still gots lots of water out! -- Tess

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. We do have a 'fridge in NYC, but since we are there only occasionally, and sometimes not for months at a time, it would not be practical to leave an opened cartridge of insulin there. In general we don't have a problem with transporting insulin. It goes in the cooler and the thermometer alongside it is always in the safe range. The reason I opened a new cartridge was because the old one was almost empty and was over the 42 day limit. Then, when I didn't see an improvement with the new cartridge that was the last one in the box of 5, I thought maybe it had gone bad and opened another new cartridge from the shipment I just received from Canada. So now I have two new cartridges open. I am such a jerk!
I tend to agree with the getting readjusted theory, especially since I added a drop to Rusty's dose, took it off when he had numbers in the 60s, and then added it again. Bad!!!

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

It's not too bad a number, but I realize it is high for Rusty, and considering you added a drop to the dose. I think he will come down in time. Sorry you all are still dealing with so much rain. We've had rain the past two days and there have been so many accidents on the freeways.

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Yes, darn it all on thinking a cartridge has gone bad. I've done the same thing only to kick myself later. Give Rusty a little more time I think. We're going through the same kind of thing here with the cold and rain. We're both under that same slow moving low front. Last night the darn thing was backing up moving east to west...instead of out and off the east coast.

I got in the car last night and it was still raining. It just so needs to stop. I think they were saying we've had 35 out of 43 days as rain. A man down the street is building a big boat... and my rain barrels are full.

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

Hi guys .. I agree, this isn't a bad number at all, but high for rusty .. it's probably the weather affecting him as well as settling into the new dose .. his numbers will come down I'm sure .. hope the rain passes you guys over .. you have had enough! Have a great day!

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159

A pretty good number to start Rusty's day. The rain can just stop for you any time now..
The weather probably isn't helping any of you. I'm sure Rusty will be back to feeling great and giving you those good numbers again real soon.. :-D
Have a wonderful day

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159, +5.5 105

Hi again, Just got inside from some time in the garden. Shadow came ambling up and he and Rusty had a long face-off. Then Shadow went up on the rock wall (where the chipmunk lives) and Rusty went up there, too. More face off. I wish I had had my camera. They didn't threaten one another, just quietly looked at each other (although Rusty did meow once; Shadow had his ears back once; and both their tails were flicking lightly). Then the people next door came home with their dogs, Shadow ran off, and Rusty came inside.
We had a nice drop in bg by +5.5 and are hoping for green later.
Thanks, everyone, for stopping by.

Re: 5/18 Rusty AMPS 159, +5.5 105, +9 73, PMPS 108

HI again, Yea, we hit green at +9!! And a nice green at that!. Rusty is feeling good today after his time out in the garden. This afternoon we put the Frontline Plus flea & tick stuff on him, because we're heading into that time of year again. And there are tons of deer here, walking through the garden and chomping on the plants. Rusty was very good about the treatment and didn't try to get to the spot between his shoulder blades to lick it.
Everyone have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella. I'm still thinking it's the weather, affecting Checks. I'll find out, when the new sringes arrive.....if they do
Hocks is taking their time with this order. Unless they send, without notifying shipment.

I think Rusty's numbers are lovely, but you're used to more green, I know.

I hope it gets drier for you soon. It's pouring here, tonight.
