Hi L&LL,
Sorry to miss yesterday. I was in the Champlain Valley on a bike ride and visit to the historic Minor Institute (farm) in Chazy NY (on the Canadian border). It was HOT and extremely windy, but we all had a good time and the terrain was pretty flat. The farm breeds and trains Morgan horses and we visited many of them in their stalls and in their pastures. We had a picnic lunch at the farm. Edward and Rusty had a good day together and both were happy to see me when I returned. It was my first bike ride of the season.
Today the HOT, very windy weather continues, but is supposed to break this evening with severe thunderstorms and hail. Tomorrow it will be more normal. We are going down to Camp Stu on Indian Lake this weekend. It is PaddleFest weekend in Old Forge and we and our friends from Indian Lake go every year to this event. We'll go to PaddleFest on Saturday. Tomorrow night we'll have our annual "dinner out" at Melody Lodge in Speculator. Rusty will get to stay in the cabin and look for mice, relax on the porch or on the bed, and just hang out. Hopefully we'll also get in a paddle at some point over the weekend.
