So this am he hands me a 142. Only because he knows I have to leave for 11 hours and can't spot check him. He has been on .6u for a few days. I have been getting mid/upper 200s in the am and mid 300s on the pm. Why the 80-100 point difference am to pm?

I couldn't shoot .6u on 142 and not be there so I shot maybe .45u Hoping he doesn't go too low, but there is food out. Maybe I need to shoot .5u at night and .6u in the morning???

He was really mad this morning too. He was angry at me when I picked him up, angry enough to bite and tear at the blanket and then my feet when I told him "no". I have noticed that he is lower when he is mad like that, so I wasn't too suprised at the number.

That's curious. Why would he get mad? Maybe he feels better and gets some 'tude with you?

Gandalf is making me crazy right now too. Here I thought we were doing well, but he was 325 tonight at +10.5 and 350 something for preshot. I stayed with 1.25U dose though, so maybe I can get some spot checks tomorrow and get a clue. We haven't been on 1.25U long enough probably.

And I'm sorry I know that doesn't help you & Jeddie at all. Just wanted to commiserate.

Well, he was 305 tonight so he got the full .6u.

I think he may get mad because he went low and doesn't like how that feels so he is "mad" that I am going to give him the same thing that made him feel "off". He definitely seems to equate the testing/shot with the low numbers. Liek he is telling me he doesn't need it.

Beau never seemed to equate the process with the results.

Wow, such a temper Jeddie! cat(2)_steam I would love to see a video of that. :)

He really is funny about his temper. He takes a big, quick breath and exhales fast when he is mad - like a "harrumph!". If I don't stop whatever I am doing (usually holding him) he gets bitey - but warning-type bites. And he will go after my hands or my feet. If I pick him up to test he usually only meows (objects) once, but when his BG is low he tends to keep objecting.

In the first few days that I had him he was mad all the time (can you blame him?) and he went after my hands and feet all the time, but hard. What I didn't figure out fast enough was that jerking my hand or foot away made him madder. The movement probably looked threatening and he would attack. He was in a bathroom that I had to use the first two days and if I had to go at night there I was all bare skin on my legs right by where he was "lurking". I draped a towel over my leg on his side to ward off his claws, lol. Not so funny when he bit my thumb pad trying to give him a bowl of food. He was one upset kitty.

Now I can stick my face in his belly, but I sure would not have done it then!

Hmmm...video? Not sure about that.

Gandalf does that! Acu vet thinks it's funny. With him though it's like release of pent up anger, although he may still be rumbly.

Does Jeddie growl when he does any of this biting/attacking, or is he the silent but deadly type?

Too funny how much he's warmed up to you.

No, he doesn't growl, he sometimes "yells". You know, "MAAH!". He always warns me with that if he is getting annoyed. I can't even remember if he growled when I first had him, but I don't think so. Sometimes he hisses, but rarely. Beau growls all the time. But he can be growling quietly AND purring at the same time. He is just not a cuddly kitty so he is very picky about how you pat/touch him. Unlike Jeddie who can be held, craddled, rumpled, etc.

Time out - Jeddie can be held, craddled and rumpled? He has come a long way baby!!

When my Lincoln is pissed he literally stamps his feet! He makes each step heavy so it's like stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp - all four paws smacking the ground. He's quite the ninny and it's all he can come up with
