Gobbles is acting a little strange this morning in that he didn't wake me up with the usual barrage of kisses and purrs. He was under the bed so I took him out, tested him and then fed him. I had left food out last night so it is entirely possible that he had eaten just a little while before I got up. I gave him a small serving of LC and then he went BTB.

I was certain that when I tested him, he would be high, but he wasn't. Maybe he's stumped as to why he didn't get tested last night (PMBG was at 6:30 pm. and normally I would of tested him at least 2 more times during the night)??? Or maybe his ear is bothering him (still has yeast infection--I'm waiting on the Zymox Hydrocortison-Free to arrive as I didn't want to start him back on the AB/steroid ear drops)--he did have a bit of the nasty black gunk in it yesterday....

He did, however, play one of his morning games post-feeding. He eats, then goes to the basement, then whines to be carried back up the stairs OR he waits till I'm all the way down then, then runs up the stairs. This game has nothing to do with his LB, though; it is just Gobbles being Gobbles.

Morning, nice start to the day  I hope the ear infection clears quickly, poor Gobbles. How is your eye? Better I hope? Have a good day,

Kathie

Poor little guy -- we sat under a crabapple tree yesterday and it took 9 q-tips to get the gunk out. As far as my eye--I thought it would be completely better today, but it is really bothering me; 4 more days of meds. The sun bothers it the most; we had planned spreading mulch today but it is going to be sunny and 86 degrees--thank goodness I have an eye patch. My husband has a plumbing job today and I might just go help him do that as it is an inside job.

Morning Kat, I hope Gobbles is okay, It's a nice green to start his day. So sorry you're dealing with this eye issue, I hope the meds continue to heal. I can imagine the eye would be so sensitive to the sun. Sending you some healing vines for your eye.

Congratulations to Gobbles on OTJ Trial Day 2!! flip_cat flip_cat

Happy Day 2, Gobbles!

Sending healing vines for your eye, Kat, and healing vines for Gobbles's ear. Have a lovely Caturday!

Yay Day 2! I hope you and Gobbles continue to be on the mend.

Speaking of Gobby being out of sorts ... I found out the hard way when Leo got out of sorts after he went OTJ. He was a little mopey and clingy to DH when I was gone. And then we realized that Leo wasn't getting his regular testing, and he missed it! Because he would get lots of loving and scratches before I started warming his ear for the test. DH pointed out to me that the test time was a regular bonding time between us, and Leo missed it. So, we still do a "real" test every day or so, but I now also do several "fake" tests during the day! I go through ALL the motions including warming up his sock (he comes at the sound of the microwave going on), I scratch him, kiss his forehead, warm his ear, hold it and "stick" it with the cap of a ball point pen, hold up the meter like I am drawing blood, and then squeek out "BEEP"!

I will note that I DO NOT get up to "fake test" for a nadir in the night!!!

Hi, Kat!

I hope both Gobby's ear and your eye are both feeling better. Lisa may be right...maybe he's confused about not getting all of his tests in. Keep us posted (I know you will!!)

This is awesome!

I gave Gob a few "mock" tests today....and then we went outside for a good while so he could stalk birds, eat grass and get a little exercise. He ate and is now passed out, sprawled out in the LR.

Sending healing vines for Gobs ear. Sending healing vines for your eye.

Day two OTJ trial. Whoo Whoo!!!!! Go Gobbles!

(pssst! keep begging for those yummy treats. You still deserve them even if you aren't getting as many pokes.)
