Hello everyone!
I hope you are all well, safe and healthy!
Bailey and I have not been around for a while, and I've missed chatting with you all. Life has been really challenging, and I just can't seem to keep up. This Covid stuff has just served to make things worse.
I am on here to ask for advice regarding a melanoma mole that was found on the outer edge of Bailey's ear that suddenly started growing very fast. A needle aspirate showed melanoma cells
Vet says Bailey is Stage 2 CKD, and she thinks it is safe to put Bailey under general anethesia, but I feel that a local anesthetic should be adequate and less risky. The vet says that it is more risky to do it without general anesthesia because Bailey could flick her ear. I've included a photos of the mole so that you all can see what I am talking about. I have also added her lab work to the spreadsheet, although I just realized they have her listed as male. I don't know if that would affect the numbers.
I have not been doing a very good job of maintaining Bailey's numbers the last few weeks, although I'm trying really hard to get her regulated before the procedure on May 26th. I discovered that if I rinse off her cat food and get rid of the excess fat, she does a better job of maintaining low numbers.
Does anyone have any experiences or advice to share, or questions I should ask? I am totally freaked out and terrified that she could end up with severe kidney damage. Am I overreacting?
Thank you so much in advance for anything suggestions you may have!
Have a happy day!!
