Sheba had a good day yesterday with green:D in both cycles.
Her drops were more controlled and I only gave her a tiny drop of honey at +4 and +4.5 in the am cycle and not at all in the pm cycle. I think the honey as opposed to the MC and HC food is working better for her in controlling the drop. She only needs the tiniest drop but it is enough to slow her down and I think the bounces are changing.

Vines to all in need

Looking pretty good Sheba!!

Nice to see her numbers flattening out some Bron....seems kind of backwards to use honey on a sugarcat, but you can't deny it seems to be helping!

Carbs are carbs. We use Karo to bring numbers up. For cats who are sensitive to gluten and using gravy upsets their stomach, honey or any kind of syrup (e.g., corn syrup like Karo or maple syrup) is a good option. Keep in mind, that vets will use a dextrose (sugar water) drip to bring up numbers.

I was joking Sienne...I understand why we use simple sugars like Karo, honey and syrup....was just musing on the fact that using a sugar seems to work so well for Sheba

@Chris & China
I don't even have a scratch! She was really good.
I used to bath her a lot when I had the two cats but haven't done her for a while so wasn't sure how she would go.
I filled a couple of containers with warm water and had a bar of sunlight soap. I put them in the bath ready then put her on the floor of the empty bath. She just sat there, even when I poured water over her. The only time she got a wild look in her eyes was when she slipped, poor thing and landed on her back in the bath, but I managed to calm her down. I didn't restrain her at all, except gently. She wasn't very happy with me afterwards and I got the evil look! I gave her a treat as soon as I had dried her and she has forgiven me.
Her coat looks so much shinier and cleaner and she looks a bit like a powder puff!

Well done Bron on the bath, you are brave. Crystal could use one, her coat is a bit greasy in places but I don't think for a minute she would cooperate! The dog is getting a bath outside later today, he's much more obliging. Good use of the honey, what a clever idea.

From the bath to the lagoon. :D Time to hop on the surfboard Sheba!

Neko used to walk around the edges of the bath tub and once fell in the bath with me, that was an experience I never want to repeat. :eek:

@Wendy&Neko
It is a wonder you can't hear me laughing from here at the thought of Neko walking around the bath and falling in with you in it!:joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful:
Sorry to laugh, but that is funny. Best belly laugh I have had for ages! Did you have any battle scars??

+8 47:D:D:D

Yes, there were a few marks on me. Worst thing was how hard it was to grab her and get her out of the tub!

OK Sheba, time to come up now. At least it's the day time.

Nice numbers Sheba. Bron, I know in human diabetics, orange juice (sometimes with extra sugar in it) is given often for low numbers as it is a quick fix. As there are very few carbs it is short acting, therefore if a person can eat, it is preferable to give them something with more carbs. Perhaps the honey is working the same way for you, it is enough to slow the drop, but since there is very little for (sustainable?) carbs, it clears her system faster than the food so she maintains a flatter curve rather than increasing too much.

Very impressive day for Sheba yesterday. Good job, guys! The LagoonMeister hopes to see Sheba back in the lagoon later today (if he can get far enough out of the woods to see the water!)

Very nice numbers Sheba, but let's bring that 47 up just a lil, ok?

I think I would die of blood loss if I tried to give Skooter a bath......I am impressed that you can do it for Sheba!

Whoa, Bron, you are so brave! Bet Sheba looks even more gorgeous now :)

Coco and Otis walk around the edges of the tub when I`m either in the bath or shower. Otis pushed Coco in one time, yikes. If it had been Lulu pushed in, I probably would`ve had to have made a trip to the ER:eek: C & O still do it.
