With meter variance that is so blue!

Lulu, come join the other kitties who are starting out a lil bit higher....I think they are all gonna do a fun steady slide down the numbers ladder today....you should join them!

Lulu`s gone down from 200 to 70 in 4 hours. My question is: why does she have dramatic slides after the AM shot, but not so much after the PM shot? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. I try to take a test at +4 after each, because she usually nadirs at about +4.

Cats are simply different. And even when you think you've got your own cat figured out, things can still chsnge.
I agree. Furball sometimes dips down during the day and sometimes at night. Just when I think I know what she's going to do, she does something different. That's whey it's a good idea to get another test after the PS tests to see where they're going. I hope Lulu keeps surfing for you and doesn't bounce back up.

That 70 is lovely Lulu, but that's far enough to dive please...see if you can get on your surfboard now! :D

Rosa was another one who seemed to switch between AM and PM for her lowest numbers - some of her reductions were earned on the AM cycle too. They just like to keep us guessing I think (it wouldn't be cat-like to give us too much of a routine)!!

Why do cats do what they do? Because they're cats. And we're dealing with a hormone issue with FD. Two very unpredictable elements! When I think I know what Polly will do...wham. She stamps her foot and proclaims, "you aren't the boss of me! and I'm gunna do what I'm gunna do!"

Gotta love 'em. And have soft brick walls to pound our heads into. :banghead::)

Up until a few days back I could pretty well count on Tuxie's nadir being around +6 or +7. HOWEVER....HE decided to change the schedule...without asking any input from me :( There really is no answer...cats will be cats...and usually at the most inopportune times :)

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I forgot that ECID -- I see it mentioned a lot on the board :) I had to go out suddenly today, so wasn`t able to monitor Lulu, so I loaded up the auto-feeder (I so love that machine). Pleased to see her in the blue at PMPS test, she`s been yellow for the past several days. I`m going out bird watching tomorrow so will be using auto-feeder again. The kitties all would LOVE to come bird "watching", but I told them only watching allowed, no preying, so they've decided to stay home :p

I have 4 bird feeders outside our living rooms windows - the whole wall is window - and the birdies & squirrels keep my cats endlessly entertained. Then at night sometimes we see a rat (yuck) or raccoons (almost as icky) on the deck cleaning up any birdseed. Nothing like a little wildlife action to entertain the kitties.

Have fun on your birding trip.
