I just received an email from Kathy who understandably is in no condition to post this herself. Kitty is on his way to the Bridge and she feels it was the absolute right decision for reasons I'm sure she will discuss in the weeks to come.

It was very peaceful . No pain, no incident. They were in a chair outside on her porch, he in her lap surrounded by the arms that held him so many times. His very favorite position in the whole world. And he just went to sleep in his momma's arms.

Kathy thanks everyone so much for all of the support and I'm sure you'll all hear from her soon

Fly free Kitty - we will all miss you.

I am glad that Kitty's crossing was peaceful, held in you arms, resting on your lap. You have given Kitty the finest gift possible. May there be comfort for you in the thousands of memories that I know you have. Kitty will always be with you - in your heart, and your minds eye.
 
Kitty, there will be so many of your friends gathering to welcome you to the Bridge. Fly free, sweet boy, on your beautiful new golden wings, land softly, and send comfort and love to your mamabean.
Kathy, you gave your boy a wonderful life and you have given him the best gift of all--a loving farewell until you meet again.

I have lit a candle in Kitty's honour to help him find his way to the bridge where all the kitties await for him to make sure he will not be alone.....

Kathy....no words can truly tell you how sorry I am that you have lost your little one.....you knew what was best for him and he loved you even more for it....i know it is hard but he knew the love you had for him meant for you to be sad and heartbroken so long as he was in peace and not suffering....he knew he was LOVED.....

Fly Free Kitty wings_cat your mom will be sad for a long time but know in time she will know that you are in a good place where you await for her....until the two of you shall meet again!

Peacefully and in the arms of love he was freed of his pain - and leaves the sadness with those behind who love him so mucy.

I am so sorry for the loss of Kitty. I know how your heart is breaking. Thank you for being there to help me with kind words when I needed help with Lilly many months ago. Again I am so sorry, my prayers are with you.

What a truly difficult decision you had to make yesterday.....but it was a decision made because of the deep love and devotion you had for Kitty. Your special, special Kitty is free of any discomfort and now breathe freely w/o any distress.

I know that Curry, BigMac and all the others were there to greet Kitty as he came across the bridge. He is not alone but with so many kitty friends now. Lots of playing and headbutts.
And I'm know Chef Stu prepared a special dinner to welcome Kitty.

And you are not alone Kathy. Know that your friends and family here in LantusLand are standing beside you.

May the sweet memories of Kitty hold you and comfort you during this time.

We are so saddened to hear about Kitty. ((((Kathy)))) You are a great bean who gave Kitty the best gift of all at the end. Fly free little one.

My heart goes out to you, Kathy, in your time of loss. Kitty will be very sadly missed. I know that Bear Man was one of many old friends to greet him at the Bridge.
 
May you find comfort in this time of sorrow.

May you find happiness in your memories.
And most of all, May you find peace.

Just a word to thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. It has given me strength and comfort to read your loving and supportive words.

I miss him, I miss him! But I know he needed to go, and DH and I wanted to protect him from fear and suffering.

Your loving support is helping me cry tears of loss, not anguish. Love and thanks to you all.

This is just beautiful ...Really really beautiful. I'm sure Kathy will love this :) It's what she needs ....
 
Yes, it is so beautiful, and it is just what I need. I need him to know that wherever he is, the place I helped him go, my love is still with him.

Just all broken up today, but taking so much comfort from all of you.

Oh, Kitty...dear, sweet, inspirational Kitty-

this is utterly devastating.

May the angels hold you closely on your journey,
and hold Kathy even closer- as we know her heart is shattered.

Sweet boy, you have touched hearts around the world- you and your mama have been there for so many of us.

The world is an infinitely smaller and sadder place today.

Land softly, legendary and lovely big boy- and know that there are rivers of tears flowing at your passing.

I wanted you to know that it was me last night and I am fine.
I feel so much better now!
There are porches and chairs and everywhere there are windows
There is chicken dust EVERYWHERE..they said you ordered it special for me. And all my
favorite foods too.

I know you are sad. I am too. And I miss you.
But I can see you even though you can't see me.
I promise I will let you feel me and you will know.
When you feel a soft breeze in your hair or a tickle on your
neck or leg or ear...just say hello.

As long as I live in your heart, and I know that will be forever,

Caryl, my broken heart just mended a little bit. Thank you for channeling my kitty to me. It is his voice. He just let me see him a little. And I'm so glad he has his chicken dust.

He did hand pick us, I know. He was sent here, he came to us. The first time I took him to the vet, she said, "He sure picked the right house."

To all of you: I just can't tell you how much your hugs and support and candles mean to me. I will be back with more on how this all happened so quickly as soon as I can. But in the meantime, just know that you are really helping me learn to live with him not quite next to me.
