Yesterday's Condo

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain. Gizmo was snoozing by the screen door to the courtyard and Gabby was snuggled in bed with me. Once it became light out (and I was semi-awake), some of the plants in the courtyard decided it was time to bloom. I have a climbing hydrangea that's creeping up the back wall and it now has clusters of white flowers.

I love the Spring when everything starts to bloom, it's my favorite time of the year. Nice start to the day Gabby, surf safe for your mom!

I don' t think I have heard of a climbing hydrangea. I have several hydrangeas but they are all bushes. Did you know they are poisonous to cats?

No, I didn't know. Thanks. I did just look it up and while it can be toxic, the usual response is GI upset. (whew!)

I didn't do the major planting in the courtyard. The developers of my condo did the landscaping. I hadn't heard of it either. I was concerned that the vine was ivy and it would destroy the brick wall. The developers knew about the problems with ivy and planted the climbing hydrangea instead. It doesn't attach to the wall in the same way that ivy does.

Yes, I had to google "climbing hydrangeas" so I could see what they look like....super pretty!

Glad all seems to be well in Gabby and Gizmo land!
