Hello!
Last condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/5-14-billie-pmps-277.137861/
I have been busy packing getting ready to move, so I have been MIA. I hope everyone is doing well!
Billie is doing pretty well overall! She is still on metronidazole for at least 2 more days. I think it is helping. She is doing better than she was last week. Although, she was acting constipated today and then passed a poo with a lot of hair in it, so I think I need to do something more about her hairballs. She has long hair and she grooms a lot. She doesn't like being brushed but even if I brush her, hardly any hair comes up, because she pretty much gets it all herself. I read that fish oil might help, so I am looking into products.
Her appy has been pretty steady. She has been picky, but eating enough with a little trial and error on my part. I have run into a problem with the ondansetron, though. I can no longer hide it in anything. I have been successfully hiding it in tuna water or chicken stock for almost two months, but now she is onto me. She hasn't had it since yesterday morning...she won't eat pill pockets and she is so hard to pill. I'm going to get gel caps and see if I can make that work for her. But her appy has been the same as it was when she was taking it, so I'm not sure it's making a difference. Maybe nausea is less of an issue and it's more about general stomach discomfort.
I'm getting everything organized to try to make the move as seamless and stress-free as possible for the cats. I think they will be freaked out at first, but I think they'll be happy once they adjust. I went to see the new apartment today and it looks great!! They're putting in new carpets, a new stove, and a fresh coat of paint. There is so much more space, more light...it's going to be awesome.
Oh, and, the most important detail - I ordered a nice cat tree for the living room! It has a bunch of levels, a cave, and a hammock. I think they'll approve.
I hope everyone is doing well. I am beat from packing so I may not say much tonight but I'll be reading through condos.
