Well, I guess the AMPS this morning shouldn't be a surprise. He was not feeling good last night at all.

Could be a pancreatitis flare, an IBD flare, the heat, UTI which the test results were not an UTI or I don't know what and he was not talking. :( I should of pushed for a culture but she was pretty sure it wasn't one. All he wanted to do was cuddle last night but he was definitely not comfortable. And I don't have any pain relief in the house as the IM vet was convinced he wasn't in pain. So, I think I need to address this with one vet or the other. He ate maybe a 1/2 can of FF all night. I don't think he went to low but it is hard to say. I did give him the SEB last night and I think that helped overall.

This morning though, I woke up to him wanting to cuddle in bed and purring like crazy. He actually wanted to eat this morning which is a good sign so far. It is raining today, so things are cooler which is nice to have a break from the heat.

So I hope he is doing ok. DS should be home at +5 to check in on him. Of course I am worried and I am to head out on Monday to Nashville for the week.

Have the D-mannose on order as I went to 3 stores close to me and they all had some cranberry stuff for woman not just the plain d-mannose. That should help any urinary tract issues.

Still waiting on the B vitamins that Stacy sent...will start that as soon as I get them for the anemia.

This cat has his own pharmacy in my kitchen cupboard.

I’m sorry he’s having a rough time. I’ve had the same problem with UTIs, if they go through the trouble of getting one, why not just go ahead and culture, especially if symptoms are present? Asia’s urine is so dilute sometimes bacteria won’t even culture and I had to convince my vet that doesn’t mean they aren’t in there, but I think these issues are more specific to CKD than diabetes. I hope the d-mannose comes very quickly.

I’m glad he’s purring and eating today, those are good things! :cat:

Asia has more meds and supplements and medical equipment than the rest of my human family and animals combined!

I'm sorry he had a tough night...and also that I'm not fully informed about Jones' history, but I did want to mention that if you had a urine draw done with the last few days, labs usually do put them on hold (for about a week I think), in case the vet calls in to run a culture. So if urine was drawn recently, you might still be able to request a culture from that sample.

I'm glad he's feeling better today...I hope he stays on that path.

Didn't know that...will keep that in mind. It has been about 12 days since the collection though.:(
This might be something the vet specifically requests...I have to admit I'm not 100% positive on that. But I know our samples are always put on hold, because sometimes we make the decision to culture based on blood results, and obviously those take a day or two to come in. At the very least, if the lab doesn't automatically put it on hold, you could ask your vet to have them hold it...it certainly can't hurt.
