Well, she made it off the yellow floor. The next question: do I torture myself with a +4 test, or just let it go?

We broke into the Wellness this morning...80% Wellness, 20% Paw Lickin'. I knew she'd like it...she always did. It's me who doesn't like it. Oh yeah, aside from all the gripes I mentioned about Wellness last night, Wellness is also what she was eating when she was diagnosed. Ugh.

Anyway...we shall see. Maybe it won't mess with her numbers like it used to...or at least maybe it won't mess with them as badly as the Paw Lickin' seems to. I'm mentally preparing myself for my usual extra-long Thursday. Have a great one, LL!

Amy, good luck on the Wellness and Paw Lickins and nice to see her slide down to blue. Now Mags is on the yellow floor. :lol: On the Wellness, is it the one produced in Canada or USA? I'm just curious. Have a great day.

I don't know how to tell where the fuds is from...is it in the code on the bottom of the can?

And good luck with the fuds. Wellness was a staple here for us, mainly becasue they liked it, no matter what the consistency. Mannie really didn't spike from it. As I remember on the coding... There should be an alpha designation, I think at the end of the code. C = Canadian, A = American. Ella (Rusty) could tel you for sure, she has done alot of calling and writing etc with the Wellness folks.

Yep, should have skipped that +4.

Her cans have a "WCC" on the bottom...I assume that means Canada, right? At least I think I'm remembering the code correctly...I looked really fast while I was heading out the door to work....

Hi Amy, it's on the right side of the barcode, below the little icon that says recyclable aluminum. If it's made in Canada, it's the firm one that Mags likes. The one made in USA is the fluffy consistency. There are some codes, and Ella mentioned it in a condo. I hope the Wellness helps bring Trixie's numbers down. Lots of kitties high today. Must have been that beach part that Shadow & Raja had for the kitties. :lol:

Maybe the Paw Lickin' has something to do with Rusty's higher numbers, too, but he doesn't get it every day and he only gets it as a treat.

In any event, here's the code info. on Wellness: If the code on the bottom of the can ends in "C 1" it is "Product of Canada" (which also appears on the label. If the code on the bottom of the can has an A in it, it is from the California plant. The Canadian plant produces the firmer texture (which is what Rusty and Maggie prefer). If you are in the store and buying by the case, look at the date stamp on the side of the case. If it has an A inside a circle, it is the California plant. If it has the date only, it is Canadian. But all of this is about to change in the next few months. Here is a link to my post about my conversation with Wellness:

Thanks for all the Wellness code info! In the past, Trix was never picky about Wellness...she always did like it. We'll see what happens.

In the meantime, this is the best number we have seen in quite some time. So, as much as the bean doesn't like Wellness, we'll keep trying with it, to see if we get better numbers out of it consistently. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm trying to be hopeful....

Actually, when I last spoke with WN a month or so ago, they said the plant is in Utah, not CA. The cans with C1 are Canada; the MW cans are Utah.

Glad to see Trix headed down today. :-D
