Hi LL friends,
Racci seems to feel better today in spite of her messed up morning. Her bg is way down again and I'm about to take another test, +4 today, because it seems her nadir is not +6 like it used to be. I need to find out if it's 3 or 4 now. I'm still sick, hence her messed up day. First I overslept, then had to keep running to bathroom while trying to take care of her. DH had fed her earlier & she had pooped and somehow got it stuck on her fur (even with this stupid haircut that's too long in the wrong places) so when I got up I had to clean her before my eyes were even all the way open. DH hadn't even noticed! She tried to tell him but he just doesn't understand cats talk or behavior! So frustrating, he's like a big kid now sometimes!

Anyway, I finally stopped running (though I was okay for a while yesterday and it came back too) and Racci is all taken care of and napping peacefully with me in the LR and I think I got the last of the giant ants out of the house and found the source!!!! DH had cleaned the cantaloupe melon on the deck and left the bag with the seeds and inside trash to go in the composter on the deck instead of bringing it downstairs to the composter!!!!!! We live in a forest & he leaves something like that on the deck!!!! grrrrrr! so had to hose that too and make him clean up. :YMSIGH:

Oh well, as you can tell, it's been one of those days. Off to try to get something in my tummy and take a test at +4 & check Racci's butt now that I can see better. :-D See you in a little bit.

I sure hear you on the DH and the inability to understand kitty talk and behavior :roll: My DH just doesn't notice anything. I told him two days ago how Daphne was in so much pain, and he asked how did I know…really?? Oh brother!

Hope your tummy is feeling a bit better today. I know how hard it is to take care of our kitties when we feel so horrible. At least Racci is feeling better today.

Nice numbers for Racci today. I hear you on the back end conditions for long haired kitties. It hasn't been much of an issue for Neko but I caught Theo doing the bum skooch along the tiles beside the LB when he used it this morning. Long hair in definitely all the wrong places.

Hi Wendy and Barb,

Thanks for your well wishes! I'm better than yesterday but still off and on with the runs. No fun at all.

I forgot to look at the time I actually got that shot in Racci so I'm assuming it was about 45 minutes to an hour late so used 45 minutes as my point to measure by and it seems she has changed her nadir! How strange!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, Barb. :lol: When I told him she was all dirty he said to me 'I was wondering why she was sitting at the bathroom door staring at me' ! I mean what could be more obvious? She knows she's supposed to wait there for me to clean her and that's what she was doing and he couldn't imagine why she wouldn't come when he called her and just meowed at him. :lol: Finally he put her food in the microwave and when she heard it beep she went in to eat. She probably just gave up trying to make the big dummy do the right thing. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Wendy, I just took her to the vet for a hair cut only a couple of weeks ago and they were specifically supposed to trim the back area up as well as remove other matts. What they did instead was shave her belly and the worst matts, brush the rest out and shorten all of it, but left much too much on her upper butt area & back legs that she won't let me brush because they hurt, so the whole thing was kind of a useless exercise! It just makes me so mad, you know? I just love her long hair but when they get older and can't clean themselves it sure is a handful if they don't want to be brushed. I personally love to brush her. I just wish she would cooperate. :smile:
Some cats never seem to have a problem with it. I know Calli always kept herself clean and she had fur just as long but not quite as thick. It was silkier. Maybe Neko has that silky type long hair?

I'm wondering if once you're feeling a bit better if it wouldn't make sense to fatten Racci's dose. It's beginning to look like you're not getting much green.

FWIW, I think I would have been tempted to not only hose down the deck but to hose down DH, as well. Apparently, he doesn't like to do any type of cleaning up!

You must have posted while I was typing. Sorry I missed you. Thanks for the well wishes. I sure hope this is gone by tomorrow. The forecasters said it would be a wonderful weekend from tomorrow on and after all the rain we've had, I'm looking forward to being able to be outside, away from a bathroom. :lol:

At least Racci is back to her blues again and feeling better. Her sore looks a lot better today too, though it still hurts her when I clean it. I'm hoping I don't have to take her to the vet and get her antibiotics and all upset again. Since it is looking better and not spreading yet, I'll give it another day.

Yes, action is a good way to describe it. It's been crazy around here. I'm hoping for a peaceful normal day tomorrow. :razz: Thanks for stopping by. I hope all is well at your place and with your baby.

I know it looks that way and it could be the case but I think it's due to the fact that I'm using the Relion Ultima which is high instead of the Bayer Contour that I usually use. She may actually be lower so I'm not giving too much credit to the last few days. I guess I should put a note on each day's post until the contour strips get here. I got a bad batch of contour strips and I need to call Hocks.com to have it replaced but have been so sick the past couple of days that I keep forgetting. I ordered 2 like I always do and the first was fine but the second is bad. They both have current dates! So as long as she's blue I'm assuming it's the meter and not feeling well.

The yellows yesterday were from not feeling well. I expected that because she was in pain from that sore. Today it's a lot better but still hurts and that also could be affecting her still. I'm not sure if you saw my post but Racci has that anal sore again. At least I'm assuming that's what it is, It could be an insect bite. The veterycin flush seems to be helping though & maybe we can get away without abs this time.

Plus I had my grandson last week for 4 days and Racci was very upset over that. Hopefully she'll get used to it. He's going to be here once a week from now on. This week it's Friday, then it will be tuesdays. She may go up again for those days too.

I think with so many variables right now, it's probably best to wait before making dose changes, don't you? Or do you still think it's a good idea knowing how badly she can bounce when I move her back down again?
