Yesterday, Neko got her long promised dosecrease. A dose that gets pink is not enough juice for her.

5/15 Recap:
AMPS 90:D +4 306o_O +10 133
PMPS 146 +9 101

Late condo - first 15 km row of the season, and shot was a little late as a result. I also desperately needed btb. Neko was happy to see me finally up and came into the bedroom asking for cuddles. I love it when she shows me her belly and starts purring. The weekend's promised showers have been delayed, so it's yet again purrfect cat weather in the solarium.

I've been talking to a friend of mine about a rescue she's temporarily housing, poor guy (4 years old) came with a really bad infection and now has a lot of internal inflammation, possible pancreatitis. Tips I've learned here have been useful. If you have any spare vines for orange Simon, they'd be much appreciated. Around the same time as Simon was rescued (from the local racetrack that has coyotes living in the infield), a pregnant momma was trapped and they are looking for a home for a feral with 4 kittens. I was able to be tough and say no - not something I'd want in the same house as Neko. Seems everybody is full with kittens this time of year.

Happy Caturday everyone! Vines to all in need, still thinking of sweet Zoey.

Good luck with the dosecrease for Neko.

Sad story about Simon and the pregnant Momma. Healing and homing vines to them both.
You were strong Wendy to say no to the pregnant momma...it is hard, but you have to think of Neko. At least she is in safe hands now and hopefully someone will take her and the kittens in due course.

Have been eagerly awaiting your post on the adventures of Neko. Sweet little belly and purrs, how lovely :) And I`m sure you needed b2b after a 15 km row -- yowza
Vines for orange Simon. :bighug::bighug: Thank heavens he survived the coyotes, and has a safe and caring home where he can recover from his wounds and illness. Also vines for the pregnant momma and her babies, hopefully someone steps forward and offers shelter.

Brief hijack, sorry:
Our local Humane Society has almost sold me on the idea of fostering a pregnant kitty, but I worry about how my three would react to the babies when they come. Kitten season is here for sure. Please, everyone, spay and neuter your pets. The Meow Foundation here in Calgary has a trap, spay/neuter and release program for ferals. They work so hard, yet we still have people who will abandon an intact cat out in the woods. Cruel.
End of hijack

Good luck with the dosecrease. I love how Neko begs for loving belly up.

Sending prayers for orange Simon and the feral momma and her kittens.

None of my kitties ever present their bellies for rubbing, but the girls don't mind if I initiate it. The boys do NOT like their tummies touched. I love the image I get of Neko showing your her belly!

I went btb today, too, but I didn't have a 15km row under my belt!! :p Felt good, anyway.

Good luck with the dosecrease. Work that jus, Neko!

Good luck with the dosecrease. I'm glad you were strong and didn't take in the foster. That would be a but much Vines for Simon.

Neko...pretty girl, make this dose stick for a long, long time. Or...bring it down, maybe.

Love how she shows her affection in the morning. Ahhhhhhh.

I used to foster lots. Once, four feral kittens right after weaning. Loved it. And even though I had eight cats and a big ol' dog, it worked fine...then. Not so much now and haven't fostered since the big ol' dog got old and cranky four years ago. Now, well, Polly's sucking most of the oxygen out of this place!

Vines for Simon. Poor guy. And vines for the mama and litter.

Sending vines for Simon. I hope he recovers from his ailments and finds his furever home. It would be diffic ult to foster a ferral and her kittens. Alley Cat Allies recommends that ferals be TNR ed and returned to their feral colonies. But coyotes are a real danger to them. So hard to know what to do! I admire all of you guys who devote time to helping at shelters.

Neko, work that new dose!
Wendy, 15 K at a fast training pace must have been a knockout! Enjoy thr holiday weekend.

A little NDW today, but let's see where she goes tonight. Today I've been well licked. In addition to the btb facial from Theo, Neko came up to me when I was on the floor and started giving me hand licks. Second time today she's cleaned my hand. :) It was right before afternoon snack time, but I'll pretend it was love.

Sbeba, Lori, Carla, Tricia, Elise, Marilyn, Ella - There are times when having a diabetic cat, which the vet calls immunocompromised can be handy. Kitten babies are only a week old, so they come as a package deal with feral momma. I think one local rescue organization is willing to release momma feral at one of their safer feeding sites, after spaying and kittens are old enough to adopt. The race track was not her home, she had just recently showed up there. Simon's injuries may have been from coyotes.:( Stoopid people sometimes release unwanted kitties near the barns thinking they'll survive on the mice.
@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - 15km was not at fast pace - we call it our steady state row, it's supposed to be a recovery row from the practices earlier in the week. Of course, once you get two boats on the water, it's automatically a race.

adding vines for orange simon... at least he's getting treated.

i hate thinking of any kitties facing coyotes.... it's so common here....
I used to think coyotes were pretty, fox like, loved all the animals and I know they gotta eat too.... but I just can't stand thinking about it.
prayers for all the kitties out there in the coyote zones....

Good luck with the dose increase. Sending vines for poor Simon and hope the momma feral and kittens soon find a loving home, how sad. At least we don't have coyotes here, thank goodness.
