Healing vines and positive thoughts for all the kitties not feeling and doing so well today, and also healing vines for our Beans who have family members/friends that have been sick.

Morning, and it looks like all P's are in place with Missy Maggie! I awoke with Maggie talking and nudging for me to get up (at 1 am)! She settled down a little and cuddled and purred in bed and then patiently waited until I got done in the bathroom. Sometimes she takes a nap in my bed once I get up, but not this morning. I quick made a cup of coffee to wake up before testing so that I wouldn't jab her in the eye or wrog place.

Vetty visit today at 8:30 am, so I'm trying to act normal like, so as not for her to suspect anything! It's a bit of a walk to my car, and Maggie starts to get heavy in the carrier. I forgot to borrow my neighbor's walker last night with a seat on it to transport her to the car. She fits perfectly on the seat, and then I just wheel her down to the car. My neighbor sleeps late, so I don't want to disturb her. So I'll have to figure out another way. I'll look for some early kind soul and ask for a favor. Wish us luck this morning. Maggie gets so frightened with the whole ordeal. I hope everyone has a nice Monday.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187 ATrak

oh....sounds like Maggie is off to a decent start today. Snuggles, nudges, and purrs are wonderful wake you ups! Attie was poking my face this morning and licking my nose too. He actually has a very soft tongue, not as rough as other kitties.

I hope you get some help getting Maggie to the car this morning. Sometimes I find carry the carrier like a box close to my body helps instead of by the handle. I'll go out open up the car door or hatch first and then lift the carrier like a box instead. That way I stay stable and so does kitty.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187 ATrak

I almost always give myself a hernia carrying Tray to the vet, he's just around the block so I walk but Tray is quite the load

Good luck carrying Maggie and hope the vet visit goes well, sending good vines for her.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187 ATrak

Ann I would wake your neighbor and then buy her some coffee or a treat to make up for disturbing her. You don't want your neck and shoulder to flare up. Wishing all goes well at the vets today. How old is Maggie?

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187 ATrak

Maggie sure gave you an early wake-up call! I hope the vet visit goes well and hope you can get someone to help you with carrying Maggie to the car. I also have a problem carrying Simon in his box and it always bothers my neck and shoulder so please be careful!

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180 ATrak

Thanks Georgia, Iorwen, Karrie and Blue, I'll be careful with the big fluffball! I just thought I'd get one more pokie. Maggie was giving me that stare like she does when getting low, but she's good to go, and not much difference than the AMPS. She was just hungry. I do catch her drinking more water than usual. I'll let you know how the Vetty visit went and catch up on condos later.

Good morning guys .. Nice blues for maggie this morning .. hope the vet visit goes well .. make sure you take it easy carrying the carrier to your car .. Iorwen, I really  when I read what you wrote! Mocha also has a very soft tongue .. I always felt odd saying that before because I didn't know of other cats with soft tongues! Her tongue is soft and wet all the time .. it's funny but so gross when she kisses us! Have a great day guys!

Hi everyone and thank you for the good luck vines for Maggie's Vetty visit. Thanks Devon for visiting. I left for the Vet after your post. Hi Karrie, you had aksed me Maggie's age; she is 12 years old. I caught my neighbor on his way out, and he carried Maggie to the car, so good timing.

Well, Maggie behaved like a little Angel letting the Vet and Vet Techs probe and examine, as well as the Vet Tech draw blood and urine. She also got a very much needed pedicure. Her weight is the same - 8.95 lbs, which is good! I think we know the reason for her higher than usual nunbers. She has a possible Resorbtive Lesion tooth and Periodontal Disease Grade 2. When he opened her tightly clenched mouth, I could see the one bad tooth! As soon as we get the results of her bloodwork (tomorrow), then I'll know if her health is okay and schedule a dental. As far as a UTI, the only symptoms I mentioned to him was her drinking more water and filling the sand box. The labwork will indicate if so. I think it's her teeth that are the main problem. The Vet is real pleased with how I'm monitoring her and checks her SS weekly. I saw a copy of my SS in the files when the Vet Tech first came in, and they must not have a printer that prints colors, as all the nice blues, greens and colors were black with the number barely showing thru. Is there a way I can make all the blocks white just for their copy? I bought some C.E.T. Poultry Flavor toothpaste and intend on trying to brush her teeth. All in all, a very good Vetty visit.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180 Returned from Vet Visit

SWEET!!! maybe after the dental, she can share a room with her Manxie buddy at the falls!!

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180 Returned from Vet Visit

nothing like answers to make you feel better, huh! glad you got some help carrying maggie out - it's like they somehow make themselves heavier when on the way to the car and the vet. wishful heaviness, hoping you'll give up, i suppose!

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180 Returned from Vet Visit

Hi Celi, that would be swell with Maggie Manx sharing a room with the Binkster. Imagine what trouble they could get into together, with Binkster being the instigator!

Hi Julie, yes, that's right. You wouldn't think 9 lbs would be that big a deal, but add the carrier weight, and as Iowen said, it almost feels like we are getting a hernia!

Hi Sienne, yep, a dental soon if bloodwork is okay. I hope I can get it in before Memorial Day weekend.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180 Returned from Vet Visit

Her mouth is quite painful with those lesions; wait to do any brushing!!! (per Dr Pierson on other posts)

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Thanks Devon; yes, I'm going to schedule the dental as soon as I get the go ahead as far as Maggie's bloodwork,

The 197 PMPS is not a surprise, as Maggie has been so hungry ever since we got home from the Vet. She's also kind of antsy and following me from room to room, making sure I don't leave her. I ran out real quick after the Vet visit for an errand, and she was waiting by the door when I returned. I was talking to my neighbor and had my door open, and Maggie walked out on the courtyard to see what was going on, and she's never walked outside previously. She didn't try to run, but I did pick her up just in case.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Glad you got some answers to Maggie's issues. The bad tooth sounds like it definitely could be the problem. Hope everything checks out with Maggie and she can get her tooth taken care of soon.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Thanks Georgia. Yes, it sure could be the source of her higher blood glucose lately.

Thank you BJM for mentioning it. I definitely will wait for the brushing. Never thought of it but just thinking of ourselves with a bad tooth and how painful. She usually won't let me brush her teeth, but loves to lick it from my finger. A couple times she let me take my finger with toothpaste and rub along her teeth. Thanks again.

Thanks Claudia for stopping by. Maggie is glad it's all over. I wish she didn't have to go thru another dental so soon. Seems like since diagnosed, she has a dental twice a year.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Ann: I am so glad you got sweet Maggie into the vet today and that you found the issue. Those can be so painful and our babies are so good at hiding them. Paws crossed the bloodwork all comes back great and she can get her dental very very soon and get back to Maggie great numbers.

Thank you for your thoughts today. Hugs!!!

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Thanks so much Marje. I should know early tomorrow morning the results. I'm so sorry about Teddi and will be watching for updates and keeping Teddi in my prayers. It's so hard to see these little ones not feeling well.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

wow - I am so late.... I have tried to get here several times, and was always derailed...

I am glad that Maggie had a good vetty visit. Sorry for the bad tooth, but I bet that is the cause for the higher numbers. It is amazing to me how good our furkids are hiding things that hurt. I hope all is well with her bloodwork so that she can have her dental and get her toothie fixed. Good luck with the brushing too, once you get that started, I wish I could do Mannie - I think it would help him, and keep him from having to have dentals twice a year. He just will not let me do anything with his mouth - even the dental sprays are a battle...

How nice of your neighbor to help you with Maggie's carrier. Those things can be heavy! That was really nice.

I wonder on the SS for your vet - That would be helpful for them. I haven't a clue how, but maybe ask Ann of Ann and Tess - she is a wiz at the SS's.

Hey Maggie!!!! How was the Spa treatment??? Did the KTSS do OK? I think you look great - I hope you feel great too - no vetty smell for you! Ready for Florida??? ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

I'll be watching for updates on Maggie for sure. Glad you got some answers today. I'm sure that tooth would affect BG. Give her a belly rub from me.

Re: 5/16 Maggie 187; +2 180; +9 188; PMPS 197 Vet Visit

Hi Michelle, yes, so much going on today with a lot of the condos. Yes, I bet the resorbtive lesion tooth and periodontal disease is causing the high bg. I'll have to pm Ann & Tess to see how I can get the colors removed for my Vet. Apparently his secretary makes a copy of the latest weeks for him to compare.
Hey Mannie, I loved the spa treatment and thanks for pickling me up in the KTSS. Yes, no Vetty smell and look so pretty. I am all ready for Florida, Maggie

Hi Karrie, I will give that belly rub to Maggie. Thanks and I will keep you posted on the results of her bloodwork. They sure are good at hiding any pain. Now I think it could be one reason why she sucking the juice mostly from the FF and leaving the rest in the bowl.

Hi Ann

looks like you had a good vetty visit with Maggie.
Hoping bloodwork comes back with no issues.
Have a good week Ann!
