Well the birthday boy ended his day by almost giving his grandfather a heart attack. Dropped down to 70 at +3 last night, even though I told him to stay calm at numbers that low. Grandma apparently had the corn syrup out and ready and was freaking out! Lol. They fed Leo some HC and he came up to 115 an hour later, they kept feeding him HC and at +6 he was at 221. Then that nasty PMPS this morning......but my dad said he's learned that food brings him up a lot, and says he's ready to experiment with LC food for numbers like that instead of HC food.

We had some laughs this morning over the whole thing, it definitely was scary for them, but they are happy he finally is coming down.

Wow, trial by fire! Good learning experience for your folks!! And it's good that they are willing to continue to help out. And Leo got some "treats" for his birthday. Now he can spend the day coming down to normal.

Good morning ... it's always scary those first few times with the "lower" numbers, especially if this isn't a day by day thing for you .. but your parents sound like they did great and are willing to learn which is nice to hear .. Have a great day guys!

Your parents are really awesome!! They sound adorable, I gotta say! Things will get easier for them as they get used to this and realize that Leo is a lot tougher than they could ever image.

Four more days and then you're home with your boy!! :-D

Yes it was a great learning experience for them. I'm just wondering why Leo never throws ME low numbers like that?! Is he trying to tell me something? Or maybe he just likes to keep his grandparents on their toes! :)

4 more days then I get 3 weeks holidays with my lil man!

Tracy - What great grandbeans your parents are!! They are trying so hard and care about Leo as much as you do. YOu are very fortunate. We haven't been able to be gone at all since Tarragon was diagnosed since we don't live near family. My DH and I are going to sneak away for a weekend now that my son is home from college.

I know I am lucky to have my parents. Every other day I think about what would happen if I didn't have them helping me, I would quit my job before I let anything happen to Leo. There are other jobs, there is no other Leo.

They really do love him as much as I do. He's got a great little kitty personality and that helps!

Can they get on line into LL and ask for help when he goes low? We'd all be glad to help out.

Hmmm they do have a computer at home, but aren't very computer literate, my dad is good at surfing the net, but i couldn't imagine him trying to type! :lol: He's always interested in seeing the forum.....when i'm there and do all the work. I guess i could show them the ropes and give it a shot next week when i'm around. That's a great idea Marje!

Back to bouncing for Leo today.............it figures... :smile:
