Not a bad start today considering she dropped into the 50s last night. I wasn't sure if she would bounce up to yellows or not. She seems to have slowed her drop, but maybe we'll see some greens this morning.

Dad is cleared for soft foods - he'll start that at lunch. No xray so far today, but possibly one tomorrow. And if he clears that okay, he thinks he'll get to go home tomorrow, which is just such great news!

I hope everyone is having a good Thursday. Kit cat sends her purrs.

Good meowning Alicia and Kit!

Beautiful start for sweet KitKat! Hopefully she continues this way and no bounce.

Also great news about your dad. You must be relieved.

Happy Thursday

I am elated to hear that your dad may be discharged soon!
I'm sure he would fly out of there if he could! Hospital isn't a place anyone wants to stay longer.
Great cycle after the green cycle too.
You deserved a relaxing day - hope you get to enjoy something for yourself today!

While not exciting, my personal email has gotten a bit out of hand, so I'm spending some time reading/organizing my emails. I used to be able to keep it under 20 total in my inbox, with everything read and labeled as needed. Lately if I can keep it under 35 I'm pretty happy. It currently has 38 unread and way too many that need to be organized (which is down from the 53 I started with today). It'll definitely make me feel less stressed about it though. Eric laughs when I say I have too many emails unread - his are in the 10s of thousands. I think I would melt into a puddle of stress if I let it get that bad. :joyful::joyful:

Hi Alicia, I’m so glad to hear your dad is doing better. I hope he can go home soon. I’m sure he’s chomping to get out of there. Keep us posted. We’re all rooting for your family.:bighug:
Very glad Kit cat did not bounce to the moon after her drop. Good girl Kit cat. Hope you have a great night.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

You are good, Alicia.
I have absolutely no idea how many unread emails I have in my inbox - most are order confirmations, delivery is done, statement is ready, that sort of thing. If you go through my inbox, you'd think my best friend is Amazon. Hope you got through your inbox and organized to the point you can sleep well tonight!

Hi Alicia , that's great news about your dad, I'm sure he can't wait to go home , I hope they give him some nice mashed potatoes for lunch, :cat:
I'm sure he's happy he can start eating soft food.
Nice start this morning for Kit .I hope she will give you some nice dark greens tonight . :bighug::bighug::cat:

So, I thought he was going to be on soft solid, sort of bland food since he'd literally been on just an IV from Sunday night through yesterday morning. He had lunch and dinner yesterday as liquid, and breakfast this morning as liquid. This was his lunch - 3 oz pork tenderloin, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, 2 oz pork gravy, beets, cranberry juice, 2% milk, 8 oz coffee, margarine, oranges, brownie with whipped cream, and a roll. Not the most diabetic friendly it feels like, and seems like a quick escalation after days of no food and then a bit of liquid, and they have no instructions on giving him insulin. For dinner it's breaded fish (he doesn't like fish), wild rice, chicken and noodle soup, a broccoli and carrot mix, diet grape juice, milk, coffee, and strawberry ice cream. And while he's waiting to eat said meal that is supposedly their diabetic meal for the evening, it's getting cold because they can't decide how much of what insulin to give him. My mother is FURIOUS. The nurses the rest of the time have been great, and when mom and dad have questions they've figured out answers. The nurse today? They asked questions after he didn't have insulin at lunch, she said she would find out, and then just did nothing. Mom said there's not many people at the hospital, so they're not super busy (it's a small town hospital). And she had left to go home by that point, so she couldn't just come back because it's a 45 minute drive. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

They are both so ready for him to be home. She went a little higher tonight than I would like, so I hope she doesn't do her patented quick drop. The little minx.

I got down to 23 emails, which isn't bad. And I hide all the amazon emails to help not remind me that maybe I order too much? :joyful::joyful::joyful:

He DID get mashed potatoes for lunch, among a great many other things (he seemed to like the oranges the best).
I'd love some greens, but I'd also love for her to not give them me after a quick drop (I'm hoping she's reading along lol)
