Happy Friday LL! Late condo for Eddie tonight. I got an after work nap in and then some errands, so finally settled in for the night here. Eddie had a beautiful green surf cycle last night and started out today with a green pre-shot number. That's our lowest pre-shot to date! In hindsight, I really should have gotten a +1 to ensure he was going up, but at +2.5 at 276 he was on the rocketship to outerspace.

At lunchtime today, Eddie sat on my lap and wanted snuggles and chin scritches. He tried really, really hard (almost successfully) to get me to call it an early day and have Eddie snuggles afternoon. cat_pet_icon

At +4 tonight, Eddie's dipped his toes into the blue, so I hope he's maybe bounce clearing tonight. Last weekend we were going to do a trial run taking Eddie to the lake cabin overnight, but bailed out when DH woke up Saturday morning not feeling well. Game plan is back on for tomorrow. If I had a choice, I guess I'd rather he bounce while we're on the road, rather than having to try to manipulate him with food. That said, we'll leave after AM +2 to see what he's got planned, and feed accordingly. The trip is about 3 hours or so. I hope it goes OK so Eddie can come with us rather than relying on a sitter or having to skip lake time this summer.

We picked up digital calipers and a variety of slightly higher carb LC foods so we're prepared to increase to 2.75u. Gotta remember to go label all the cans now to keep it all organized. Next, the challenge is going to be figuring out when we'll have 4-5 cycles in a row to keep a close eye on him to ensure the higher dose doesn't bring him down too low. I'm looking forward to seeing if 2.75 will bring him flatter and help with the bouncing. These flat yellow cycles are a bit maddening. :YMSIGH:

Vines to all kitties and beans who need them and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

great night for Eddie last night - and YAY you got a nap in today!

We took punkin several places with us. He'd complain in the car until we got far enough that he knew he wasn't going to the vet's. Then he'd settle down and sleep under & behind the driver's seat. I hope you have good luck with taking Eddie along. You want to still have a little bit of a life!

I think it looks like he's clearing the bounce already. It's great to have the bouncing lessen - so this is about 24 hrs and really just one cycle of being high. Some cats do well when you give them a little extra carbs to prevent a dose reduction if it looks like one is coming (ie, he's headed low) so that you can give this little bit extra insulin to bring down those high numbers and help him flatten out.

Great shooting this morning Jen! Good luck with the trip tomorrow. I hope Eddie gives you a break on the trip.

Thank you for the visit Julie! I've seen Punkin's "kidnapped" picture, and I actually ran across his SRT slideshow the other day. I hope Eddie has the same reaction - settles down once he realizes that we're not going to the V-E-T.

At +6, we're at 150! Yay! I hope he continues to gently slide down tonight for a nice low pre-shot in the AM (within reason so we don't have dramatics during the drive. ;-) ) The last several cycles it seems he's generally gotten into a pattern of a nice cycle or maybe even two, followed by two flat yellow bounce cycles. Several weeks ago, he was bouncing for four or more cycles, so clearing a bounce within one cycle is a solid bit of progress I think we can hang our hat on. :-D

Since Eddie isn't really a cliff diver and usually gently slides down into a surf (so far anyway), I'm thinking that bringing him up in dose and propping up the nadirs a little bit might be just the ticket. :-D It might be a little bit before we can go ahead with the increase, but we'll see.

heehee i loved that "kidnapped" picture. My favorite caption was "I SAID 2 CHEESEBURGERS, EXTRA RARE!" cats are such a hoot. tonight McGee (our year-old tux boy) was trying to get on my lap but i had a magazine there and didn't move it fast enough - his face said it all. i'd taken too long and he was very offended. i had to move the magazine and practically beg him before he came back over and settled in.

i hope Eddie does the trip ok. it's so much easier if you can drag them along with you!

Looks like Eddie's not dropping any further at +7, so I think he's going to let me head to bed relatively early for a change tonight (after I get done watching the movie I'm watching and finish reading condos, that is. :-D ).

Wendy - Thanks for visiting! DH gets half the credit for the shot this AM, since he physically shot the insulin this morning. :-D

Julie - I hear ya on "the look." I've attached a picture below of Eddie snoozing on my lap giving one of the civilians "the look." ;-)

Marjie - Thanks for the visit! I'm pleased Eddie's seems to be clearing the bounce tonight. I hope he can slide down without starting a new bounce in the AM. We shall see!

Jen, I love the picture!! I'll be interested to see how the calipers work for you. I'm using them but still have issues with the syringes. I hope Eddie doesn't mind the drive and that you all have a great time!!
