Fur shot? Bounce? Who knows. He has been looking like he is wasting on his hind legs the last week or so again. I know last time the vet and my DH said I was imagining it and nothing was wrong. and we did tests and found nothing. And I weighed him again and no change. But I can see it! So I did some google and it said that some cats when they get old, the body starts to redistribute fat to support the older failing organs. Bailey is 15 and has had a hard time with the diabetes (which was untreated for a long time) and his pancreatic enzyme insufficiency. So he is likely older than his years.

He is behaving perky and energetic and happy and eating well so I try not to worry - this is just an age thing I think. But saying that I want more greens in his BG like last night.

My vets (three of them) all say it's natural and just gravity.

Hope you see some more green numbers soon.

Happens to old people too :) My plan is to eat like crazy when I hit 65 so i put on 10lbs... so that I don't look scrawny when I hit 80. Its hard to put weight on too when you get to a certain age as you don't process food as well ( applies to Bailey too) so I want to be ready. It will be fun trying to gain a bit of weight. donuts, chips, pizza and wine here I come!!  .

I like my pets to have a little extra weight on them too - not fat, but 1/2-1lb over. Because it can be tough to get weight on an aging pet - and when they lose weight - they can lose it fast.
