Did better last night with 4.00 than with 4.50 this morning - at least he got into some blue. Thinking maybe (depending on his numbers) I do 4.00 again or back off even more?
My gut keeps telling me I need to BLAST him again with 5.5 or similar and see if we can get some action but I know common sense here and his numbers don't really indicate that is the way to go. Where did all those blues go we were seeing? I really got some false hope we were headed in a good direction now I feel lost again.

He is still flat or going down so the cycle may not be done yet. Here's what I see so far:

5 units seems to work if he is in the 400s
The 4 units at 382 gave you a 137 at night. He does seem to go lower during the night cycle than the day cycle?
365 you gave 4.5. It's giving you a long cycle.

You could ask Robin to set you up with a sliding scale. She takes the data and gives you dose for each number range. Then you see how that works and she adjusts if/when things change. Send her a pm and ask her to take a look if it's something you are interested in.

Let's see what happens closer to pmps. Will he continue to surf or will he climb up?

HANG TEN... he's surfing along 280, 280 285. Now he ate at +11 so at pmps he's 295 and climbing I'm sure into the 300's . I cannot for the life of me think what to give him right now.
I will PM Robin if she'd consider helping with that I'd be very interested.

If the patterns hold, maybe 3.5 into a 300+? The 295 isn't influenced by food, right? He does seem to trend lower at night. But you might wait around for Carl. He and I aren't always on the same wavelength.

This is good news, Ellen!

Sue I missed your post - I don't know how this always happens - the 295 probably had a tad of food influcence as he'd eaten an hour prior and is finishing his dinner now - we're all wacked up with the food schedule since we got off the 6am/6pm schedule and are on 7:30/7:30 basically. I'm trying to get to him before 8pm at night as he seems to go real high if I wait too long but he does also seem to go lower at night - not sure what that's about. So 4.5 it was and we'll gather some more data on that I guess....

Hang in there Ellen.....you are doing your best, doing great, and seeing progress (even if it's slower than you'd like). You have great advice coming from Carl and Sue, and so many others rooting for you and Robbie. I know it gets crazy trying to figure out BG levels, food, how much insulin to give....argh! Wish there was a magic ball to give us all clues, but having those on the board with experience is pretty close.

I don't know what I'd do without the support here - Sue and Carl are amazing as are everyone who just pops in to say "hang in there" I am ashamed to say I don't do enough reading and checking out other posts to offer support - I'm so focused on Robbie, my sick Dad and work - well - I should just make more time and try and lend a helping hand or support elsewhere - I know how much it means to get posts like yours just saying hang in there.

You can only do so much. I do the encouragement posts when I can, and wish I was able to post more of them. Hope to do that when I'm not distracted with other things. I think people know that others on the board are rooting for them whether there is a post or not. :-D
