yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14519

In case you missed yesterday - we have found a mass/lump/cyst/whatever on Tuscany's front left leg - at the "wrist"joint. It doesn't seem to bother her to palpate - but have now noticed her holding it up sometimes when she is sitting. Her sugars are great, she does not feel like she is running temp, she it eating and behaving fine. There is no skin irritation. I do not think this is a bite or skin injury. I am wondering today if it feels just a tad more "tense". I was going to wait til Wednesday - next day that I could take to vet - but will try instead to call Monday am and see if I can get a late appointment. It will mean canceling some work hours and taking the cat to work all day - but hopefully can be done.

Hi Joyce, Good idea to see the vet, if nothing else it will set your mind at ease. I used occasionally to get these lumps on my wrists. My DH calls them "Euerbeins" (his German mother's term for them). The cure is to smash them with a Bible! (Not so sure you should try this on Tuscany, however!)

So relieved to see you! I read yesterday's condo today and was wondering where you were today! I hope that her behavior and BG's is a good indicator that it is nothing serious. Im glad you are going to try and get her in earlier. I do think it will make your week easier, rather than waiting and letting your imagination go wild.

OH, my imagination is already resigned. (prior cat with amputation due to cancer in paw, pts 3 months later cause of spread). Tuscany has had a good , decently long life. IF there is a bad diagnosis here - there won't be any heroics. Make her comfortable and nurse her along until she isn't.

I am wondering if they ever stick needles in these things? I am sure we will get an xray. She could probably stand another surgery (had dental last fall and did ok) - bx would be ok - amputation won't happen with her. Been there - did that and at her age and medical issues wouldn't do that to her. (Would do it to a younger cat and would do it for trauma in younger cat - but would think long and hard about the cancer thing again).

Finally off to bed. Good sleepus numbers - just wish I could sleep in in the am. Humm, wonder if I can kick DH out of bed - he can fall back to sleep way easier than I can.

((((Joyce)))) I hope you can get her in to the vet soon. I think I would hold off on Ella's treatment suggestion for a little while.
