Good Morning, Everyone,

The LagoonMeister is on duty! Rusty had a good night, ate all of his nighttime food, and this morning we had a good morning routine. He's starting out green, so we'll keep an eye on him.

Sorry to have missed most of yesterday. Our visit to our friend Jean in the hospital in Burlington VT took most of the day, and in the evening I was too tired and emotionally spent to do board work. As I posted yesterday, she looked much better than we had been led to believe and we (3 of us) had a good visit. She is comfortable with her decision to let nature take its course. As she says, she had 88 really good years. She will be moved soon to a nursing home closer to home (as soon as a room becomes available), so we will be able to visit her more easily. I can't tell you what a great woman Jean is and how much we all love and admire her. Rusty was her "couch buddy" for our winter mountain-film series and when we viewed the last film (after Jean's accident), he looked all around for her. Jean had recently adopted a kitten (about 4 months ago). But because of her age she made arrangements then for one of her daughters to take him if she were to die or become incapacitated. "Sunny Sunshine" (a beautiful orange kitten, very active and playful) is now in his new home in Maine.

bbl, lots to do today,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella,

I saw your condo yesterday and didn't have a chance to respond. I'm so very sorry to hear about Jean. It's never easy to let someone go. I'm keeping Jean, her family, and her friends in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope Rusty surfs safely for you!

I am so sorry about Jean. Many vines for her, her family and friends. Nice to see the LagoonMeister back on duty. I doubt you'll see Zener there today, at least not this morning.

We are continuing to send prayers for Jean....she sounds like an amazing woman.

Wonderful start for Rusty!!!

Re: 4/15 Rusty AMPS 73

I am so sorry to hear about your friend, Jean. She seems to be at peace with her decision and I know it's much harder for you to say "ok" because you care so much about her. I am glad that she is moving to a place where you guys can visit easily. I am glad her little Sunny Sunshine has a home where she will be loved. When Barbara had her operation, she was wise to make sure her fur babies would be taken care of if something happened to her. I think we should all have that plan in place....kind of hard to look at our own mortality sometimes, but it is the best thing to do.

Now....Rusty....nice :) Just make sure you keep it nice...no diving into the Lagoon!!!

Nice to see someone watching the Lagoon! what a great start to the day.

I'm glad your friend is at peace w/ her decision and will be able to be near her friends. Sometimes acceptance can lead to remarkable results.

The LagoonMeister has hardly moved. What a great cycle! I think it's the weather: languidly warm, humid, windy.

Yard work was the order of the day here. Rusty came out for a brief while, but preferred the coolness of the house! Tomorrow we are supposed to meet some friends and go to PaddleFest in Old Forge (about 2 hours from here), but the weather report is pretty awful and we may just stay home.

Off now to visit some condos,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. I put out the hummingbird feeders and already we have a pair of hummingbirds (Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, the only species we have in the East).

The LagoonMeister is doing an excellent job today. Does he enjoy watching the hummers? I know he's more of a rodent fan. My two love watching them and get quite talkative.

I am glad you'll be able to visit Jean more easily, that will be a comfort for both of you.

Looks like my date was off by a month! I've edited it to be May 15, not April 15!

No one caught it!!

LagoonMeister is still on duty. See you tomorrow.

Great day for Rusty.

I'm so glad you and Edward got to visit with Jean. It sounds like you feel more comforted with her decisions now they you have seen her. I hope so. I know it has to be so very difficult.

Very cool on your hummingbirds. Our little female has fortified last years nest on a decorative hummingbird bauble we have hanging on the patio and she has laid two eggs. This will be the third year and we hope she will raise two more babies.

A beautiful day for Rusty!

I am glad that you were able to visit with your friend jean. I am glad that she, and bot of you, are at peace with her Dennison. it is hard times for sure. Peace be with her.
